Hi there, very interesting Interpretations. I agree with most of them.That song is in my opinion the summary of most of what the band is able to do. And that transition in the music with a paradise-like beginning with birds and stuff untill that unexpected breakdown that throws you right into hell. It's just epic. As I'm no native english speaker it's often hard to decipher their lyrics. Some lines could also be just english idioms. The part where he' s rapping could portray a hospital scene or withdrawal from drugs or something like that. He feels like cold cuts, pieces of meat, in a freezer, not like a human. That paystub thing....maybe his former project or relationship. Some songs could connect with that also. Godmother....someone in his life, who is dead and therefore couldn't witness his life now. Eden is not a person but a state of being, I think. Do you know ProjectJango channel here? He dives into their lyrics as well. Greetings from Chilivani 😉.

I do love this song. Ren actually paid for the right to use the original sample by Vera Hall in the 1930s. He build his own beat from that sample He didn't use Moby.. So many can relate to each other's troubles. ❤

Well, the lyrics are quite stupid but funny, because almost every line - except the chorus - is a German proverb that is either screwed up a bit or gets a weird meaning just by placing it in this context. And the line "wird belohnt mit stetem Tropfen" (is rewarded with constant dripping) might be a reference to the symptom of a sexual transmitted disease when condoms are omitted. And beside the lyrics it's a quite catchy song.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 (Japan time) . Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. That was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍

Babymetal attended an Electric Callboy show last September in Boston, and after the show they met backstage, and the collab came from that. Momoko is also doing metal screaming by the way, in a couple of spots. Like when Kevin says "are you ready" the answering scream is Momoko.

I definitely see the self harm aspect. Especially the lyrics that mention the marks on my dashboard and would you call asking for answers? Implying they desperately wanted someone to care, but maybe manipulatively. Also I think maybe the passing headlights are people who ignore the pain. Darkness being loneliness, neglect, and depression. I think the omens part refers to the pain they caused the other. Maybe causing them to reach for safety. Or maybe the impulse to pull away when you’re in pain, pushing people away. It could be a nudge of manipulation, purposeful or accidental. Maybe the other person entered this relationship to fix or protect them and realized they could not help in the way they wanted to. I found this looking for symbolism in the lyrics, you have a wonderfully calming demeanor. And I like your perspective on the song. I struggle with bpd as well, appreciate you being vulnerable.

Yeah, some of COB songs are not that hard to jam, but to actually play them tight is usually pretty hard. I would say that about 66% of their stuff is way harder than 90% of what for example Metallica has done. I have tried to play some of COB riffs back in the days, but never actually learnt anything properly. Maybe I should now because I'm planning to start play again. And you definitely need to use that beautiful guitar you have. I'm subscribing here and putting the notifications on, so I can watch your progress with that! Now you have one reason to practice more 😉

Some reactors and fans couldn't wait for the official MV release, but you did a great job waiting for the official MV release.🦊🤘🐭lol Most likely they will be playing this together at FOX_FEST Festival next weekend May 25 and 26 in Japan along with many more artists and bands such Polyphia so can't wait for the live version. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus and also I think I heard in a K-pop song, not sure which one. Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that, we'll see in the live version. There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more. Lyric-wise I assume that song is about a toxic relationship. That would also fit in the overall melancholic vibe of the whole album "Zeit". As a native speaker you probably might like the song "OK" from the same album. Even though the meaning of the lyrics is quite silly (pubertärer Humor), this is achieved by twisting common German proverbs in a funny way (my point of view). And the song itself is a catchy as this one.
