Looking Abi Amazing as Always! My Triple AAA friend! Xx
I like this channel Thanks Abi!
Going to Copenhagen too &as a wheelchair user, this was comforting
Thank you. I hope you enjoy your trip!
tsa poured multiple cans out that i needed it
Sorry to hear that. They did that even with a prescription? Awful!!!!
Hi. First of all, thank you very much for your video and recommendations. Extremely useful. Secondly, I am on my way to Rome with my mother who is 96 years old. Wondering where you’ve got the three wheel wheelchair from ? Where can we rent it from? I have tried several Italian websites with no much luck so far. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I hope you enjoy Rome. Unfortunately, the wheelchair I have is my own (I bought in it the UK) and you can’t rent it. You may be able to find mobility scooter rental places though. Wish I could help more. Enjoy your trip!!!
Very helpful, thank you
Looks Abifabbi 👍👍👍
Thanks for a quick informative review, plus the vlogs of your trips. Really helps get a practical feel for possible equipment choices. How have you found the Triride as far as reliability goes? And if/when repairs or maintenance are needed, what’s the service like? Thanks.
Hi. Reliability. Has been pretty good so far. The battery really hold its charge well and tired hasn’t needed replacing yet and I am at 600 miles now. Triride uk, seem to yo be really on it with repairs and support too. Thank you for a lovely message!!
Thanks very much for the extra info. Very helpful.
I'm currently waiting for my Triride and bespoke wheelchair (I'm a 20 stone 6ft male) and your video has given me confidence in it. My biggest concern is the foot room ill have with my left foot. I'm a BTK amputee and because of restrictions on my leg angle, (I find it difficult to keep my leg at 90 degrees and further back, for long periods. The demo model the guy brought round was too small for me and the front wheel caught my left trainer shoe when the steering was on full lock. Thanks again Abi.
We have only two hours in Rome airport and transfer to another plane. We are worried about getting scooter from plane and making it to second plane within two hour framework. Can you manage it all within two hours? We're in our 70's so we need to add time sadly! 😟
Hi, I think if you have all your info for the scooter prepared like battery size and dimensions you should be good. Also make sure you request assistance through your airline and that will help fast track you through the airport to your next plane. Enjoy!!!
Thank you! Yes, very good advice!!!
Thank you for this, I learned a lot! God bless you!
Thank you for sharing this, I’ve struggled to find anything on this and especially the flight and battery part! How have you found the experience of keeping the chair all attached when they store it in cargo?
Not a problem. I have found it absolutely find just say it’s on wheelchair and it’s electric and they don’t question, if they as to take it apart (only happened once to me) I just say it is to difficult and it need to stay together. They just put it in it own container, which means less chance of damage. Hope that helps.
I would love to hear how you found the entire cruise, the port visits and the excursions with the accessibility needs that you have. Thank you for the review.
Hi, there will be a video coming soon on this. However in summary the cruise ship was great and easily accessible. Getting off the ship was a bit tricky and it wasn’t fully lip free but they are willing to help. Biggest thing is that if you are wheelchair user that cannot walk at all or used an electric wheelchair you cannot get off on tenders with Virgin. Hope that helps
@@abievansHi Abi, are you stating that you are not able to leave the ship at the different ports if you are in a wheel chair?
@BreBD25 if you are in a wheelchair and cannot walk in Virgin voyages you cannot get of at port which are tendered.
Thank you so much! This was so helpful! ❤
I'm so glad!
thanks for the video Abi & the excellent info! will deffo try n get to visit Dublin v soon now! ♿😊👍
Hi Abbi, I am going away later this year 2024. I had a traumatic event happen to me. I have a Hickman line and I plug into TPN and saline . I can’t walk too far . As this is my first flight with Virgin Atlantic . I filled in the MEDIF and have hospital letters I also have to inject with fragmin which are pre filled . I need to be near the toilet due to my condition I am so scared . Please can you give me some advice . I’m under special assist my husband is my carer too. Please advise as I’m worried . This is my first holiday since the issue that happened to me ?
Hi, thank you for your comment. Firstly, well done on taking the step to book your first trip. That alone can be hard. You may have seen my Virgin Atlantic video? Regarding special assistance etc. if you can walk to far it may be helpful to hire a wheelchair or even invest in a light weight folding wheelchair (drive do a good travel one) this way you can use it in the airport and in holiday. For the seat ring Virgin and tell them you need a bulkhead seat next to toilet so you can have you bag by your feet and are near the toilet. Regarding medications etc if you have letter you will be fine, take enough it your hand luggage for 2 days extra just incase. If you have any specific questions please ask and I will try to answer them. I hope you have a great trip!
Took me 42 years to be diagnosed :)
Too much yap, should be a voiceover of practical use
thanks for this info. i’m taking my triride to Iceland in a few weeks. Did you mainly use pavements or cycle routes or roadways please- and any problems i need to be aware of? would be grateful if you see this and have time for quick reply… 5:16
Hi, so exciting that you are going to Iceland, nice to of year to go too. Not to cold! When I was there I used the pavements mainly and bike lane here and there. It was pretty accessible and if you have a Triride I can’t foresee you have any issue with cobbles etc. Only slight issue I had was restaurants having steps. I had some people with me who would lift me but if that isn’t possible there are plenty that are wheelchair friendly. Any other questions please ask. Have great time.
what is the name of the device you have on your wheelchair to help with navigation.
I have a bicycle phone holder from Amazon’s attached to my Triride and then just use Google maps on my phone
Great video , key points no faff. I hear prices ranging from a few to 6-7 grand. As always with disability equipment you get ripped off. For those wheelchair users who didn’t get a compo claim luxuries like these are sadly unaffordable.
Unfortunately so, disability is so expensive! It would be amazing if they could be more affordable
Hello Abi, unfortunately there is not a tryride for everyone, because they have a weight limit and when you are six foot three and weigh nearly two hundred plus kilograms, your options are very limited, I have only found one power add on that comes close and it has so many negatives that I believe it is not worth the money but what other option is there?
Thank you for all the amazingly helpful info Abi! Looking forward so much now to our Rome trip in a few months time ♿🥰 Love your channel!!! @abievans 😊
Have fun! Thank you
Hi Abi thank you for the resource. I am a wheelchair user traveling to Rome in a couple of months. Question about Colosseum tickets, did you need to reserve in advance or were you able to get tickets the day you visited?
I didn’t reserve tickets in advance, just went to desk and they gave me ticket and a carer ticket but maybe email. You skip the big Q too!
Hi Abi. Thank you for your videos. They are super helpful. Can I ask where you purchased? I'm looking online from the US and can only find info, but no purchase options.
they are sold by mobilty shops it shouldnt be hard to find a seller in the USA theres a dozen or more in the UK and even a page on facebook
very useful. going there in may . these information is helpful for my mum
Glad it was helpful, I hope you have a good trip!
поправляйся! хорошее видео. слава Украине.
I hope you are now relieved from any pain ❤
Love the Zebra pj's 🥰
Great video and real informative. Could I ask the name of the apartment. Fellow wheelchair user, trying to plan my trip go Copenhagen. Thanks.
Hi, I am so sorry. I didn’t see this but if it is still helpful here is the link! I hope you have a good trip! abnb.me/gD14JWVGQGb
Thanks for the video l am going to Italy and Greece in mobility chair 😊 this week
How did it gp? Did you go to Coliseum? I will go to Rome with a mobility chair … how was the process of getting the tickets
@@manuelAAU620 Getting tickets at the Colosseum is really easy. You will see a really long queue for the colosseum, ignore it and go straight to the ticket office. Here you can by a discounted ticket for yourself and I believe they gave me a carer ticket free of charge as well. You can then go to the front of the long queue and go straight in. Hope that helps
@@abievans yes …thank you so much
Currently in 3101, the paint is still on the window! Did you sail in the room? The noise when it docks is very loud!
Hello, sorry didn’t see this comment until now. Shame the paint is still there. Yes found the room noisy a lot. A banging noise at night? How did you find it?
@@abievans the room itself was fine but the crew door next to the cabin door was loud at all hours and the docking noise very early in the morning was horrible.
@@lescroft891 totally agree. Room was ideal! Did you complain about noise? When I did they acted like they never had a complaint but seem like a problem for more than just me!
@@abievanswe travelled in October we had more issues with the weather!
currently in that room. every night between one and 4 AM constant banging from the crew galley right below it this morning they were working on the plumbing at 5 AM banging away like there was no tomorrow
it is SO hard to find videos on Triride from actual users, thank u for sharing this 🥳
No problem 😊
@@abievans hey i've got a question. for when ur air travelling, anything u keep in mind or do for safety of ur wheelchair and triride? i knw baggage collection is notorious for lugging them around and causing damage. so was wondering if you had any tips to stay safe, since im lookin to get a triride soon :)
@@cllniya absolutely, all I do is make sure I keep the together. Don’t disconnect the Triride. Just remove the battery and take it in the cabin. This means it is around 25kg and so they have to carefully pick it up and also have to put it its own container and strap it in. So far the worst damage I have had is a snapped mud guard! Hope that helps. 😊
thank u@@abievans ! very helpful
I always read that disabled people, using a wheelchair, have to book a train ride 1 hour in advance through the app or by telephone. As I understand, there is no level entry on older sprinters and intercity trains, so they have to put in a moveable ramp. I sometimes saw a ramp chained to a column on the platform which needs to be put in place by the ‘conducteur’ (train surveillant and ticket controller, don’t know the English name for it, I don’t think it is conductor, which would be the obvious one) or a train company travel assistant, when a train stops. The new Sprinters and Intercity trains have level boarding though.
Great video. If you come next time go see Rotterdam as well. Quite different than Amsterdam but I think you will like it. A harbour tour is very nice.
Thank you, it is definitely on my list!
fantastic to know! too many places in Europe (and the UK) are inaccessible to wheelchairs.
Thanks Abi for your review of Celebrity accessible rooms. Never having to use one it was very helpful to see what type of room I can expect!! Keep up your good work with reviews!!👍👋👋
You are so welcome!
So nice to hear that your experience was so nice! Next time, do visit the Rijksmuseum. It’s the national museum of the Netherlands for art & history. You can also use that Amsterdam card there. I am a little biased since I work there. Perhaps until next time!
Thank you, I did visit the museum (via a very cool round lift) forgot to film it though. Was very nice though!
Thanks Abi the main video for me was the bathroom thanks
Well described Abi. I learnt so much. You present very well too. X
Nice to hear Amsterdam is accessible. I would have thought the old buildings and bridges turn it into an obstacle course.
Fab video Abi! You are making me want to travel ❤
Thank you, very useful video 😊

WONDERFUL. I HAVE BEEN DISSABLED SINCE 1949’ when I contracted polio. I have see many rooms labeled “disabled” This really delivers the good. Thank you so much for designing a wonderful room. I look forward to our next cruise on a new Celerity ship.
Hi Abi! Great info. I'm a dietitian writing a blog on flying with a feeding tube. Any in flight advice or tips?
Hi, That’s sounds great, it is something that takes a while to get used to that’s for sure. My top 3 tips would have to be: 1. Have a clear letter detailing everything you are taking through security. This way you can hand that over and they can look at everything you have and match it to what is listed in the letter. 2. Anything Medical can go in the hold for free. Take a letter saying you need this equipment and go to check in. They will check as many medical bags as you have - I always find it best to have these bags marked with medical equipment stickers. 3. Planned for the unexpected - we all hope that airline won’t loose our medical baggage but it can happen, so take enough feed in you’re carry on for at least your day of travel and 1/2 more. Bonus: if you are on a continuous feed, don’t sit in exit row or bulk head. As you can’t have anything on you’re person or by your feed during take off and landing. You will have to disconnected and reconnect after take off and again before landing. Good luck with the blog. Abi
Thank you very much for all information you share, ❤
great vid staying there next week
Hi Abi, great video. Can I ask how you found out about the different hand controls. Did you have a driving assessment at a UK centre?
