Castle Roy, Nethy Bridge, Cairngorms National Park

A guided walk around 12th century Castle Roy, one of Scotland’s oldest castles. The Castle Roy Trust have recently completed conservation of the ruin and it is now accessible to the public. John of Strathspey Tours is a recognised guide for the castle on open days .
What fine Highland landscapes. It's so easy to imagine a clan battle having once taken place there. I hope one day I will be able to come to with my bagpipes to the Piper's Stone and play "The Haughs of Cromdale" there.
My Mum's family - McLean's - are from Cromdale.....we were there ab tout 8 weeks ago, visited Grantown also, lovely area
My fathers family is from Cromdale, this really helped visualise the battle , thank you

Hi Matthew. Yes the old lady lived at Rynechkra and walked to Dulnain Bridge to raise the alarm. She had just come out of hospital. Which newspaper did you find it in ?
