That was an awesome journey, I think the only requirement to get an other ending is that you have more alive companions at the end for the transfusion so you can get rid of the radiation poisoning.

At around 22:14 you hit that flower and ask what it does. I actually came here hoping to find out, lol. Anyway, I went back and reloaded my game, I used a Daruma, then hit the flower, and that refilled my tea. As far as I can tell so far, all the flower does is refill your tea if you don't have the Infinite Kettle.

you were right there is a thing in this temple at the end, but to do it, you must do a serie of sidequest that maybe you didnt finish. Because you can fight the REAL last boss in an epic finale. :)
