Was a member of Wickstead park last year as it was the first year it went syndicate! Got told there was about 50 carp in there, I’d honestly say there is probably between 15-20, if you look at the catch history the same fish come out over and over again, I did 4 night sessions for 2 fish, but didn’t go back as cars were getting vandalised! It’s a lovely little lake though mate, good luck!

I forgot I also got the bait spiral and hell is that useful - put one rig in one hopper spiral in the other - run rig out to spot and drop with some bait - then manually get boat to do a 360 with the spiral running you now have rig and a pile of bait and a area with lesser amounts of bait for the fish to home in on

OK so I have been carp fishing for a long long time (over 40 years) and until a couple of years back did the normal lead about use a marker float spod out the bait. I did already have a viper bait boat way back in the day when they came out which I used on certain lakes as just another tool. Then due to reason's of being what we called double jointed and now something weird like hyper mobile I can no longer do lots of over hand cast so leading about marker depth checking and spodding is out of the question so it was either give up carp fishing (aint going to happen) or as my old bait boat finally gave up the ghost buy a new one. I got the RT4 and bar a few gripes its been great - I did not get the samsung tablet supplied at extra cost as I already had one so just downloaded the software - first trip to lake find a spot and mark it - put boat in water - auto pilot to spot - hmm bait boat goes south when spot north... Use remote - works fine - phone them up - ahh the default software setting in x is to invert the AP commands - change that AP out to spot works fine. I am a software developer and write apps and company web sites I have never thought hey the default for the software I am writing should be do the opposite to what you tell me :) so thats one small issue so if anyone else has the same problem there's your answer (why on earth you would even have a setting og do the opposite of what i say is beyond me but ho hum) The other problem i seem to still have is when doing t eh go out and map the lake is if at any point the depth is under 2ft it when completing fails with - cannot produce map - still not worked out how to get around that one but for any lakes where i do not happen to choose to send it anywhere under 2ft its fine I also got the 3D view and its once you get used to it amazing so rather than seeing whats directly under the boat you see X either side so you might have just missed that gravel bar - nope shows up on the 3D And why did i bother getting that software well basically if you have already spent Xk on a boat you may as well go the whole hog :D battery wise I went for the smart batteries which A. do not need the weird charge play with settings blah blah - yes i can be lazy B. they are not main and secondary they work together which can be either a good or a bad thing depending on your view All in all with the choice of stopping carp fishing or buying a boat which allows me to carry on as I would have before but using tech rather than a marker rod + spod rod i have not regrets Its similar as to when you go to Abroad - use a boat with a electric engine and a echo sounder which nobody seems to have a problem with when in EU so no idea why peeps are so against them in the UK I would not say its made me catch more or less fish as I seem to catch about the same amount now as i did before in my mind its just another tool to use and these days like the fact i now use a electric barrow just something age is forcing on me ;)
