    With TCO you should also count the extra price you have to pay for interest on the higher loan (for a comparable ICE car from same brand same type) Like: the Fiat 500e Cabrio costs €38.500. The Fiat 500 C (ICE version) is €20.000. That is a difference of €18.500 to start with. Over that extra higher amount of money you pay €3.000 of interest. Making the difference already €21.500. . . . . . . how many years will you have to do till brake even, with 12.000mls per year? And what about insurance? that is a lot higher for EV's than for ICE.

      Actually my ice car cost me more insurance than my Fiat 500e My Kia soul2012 cost 700$ for 6 months, my Fiat 500e 2016 is 200$

    We really need the price to drop to around 20k to 25k or so for EV to really be the future. The battery issue is almost resolved and hopefully, it gets safer and better. Really hope that solid state battery becomes the norm fast. It'll solve the battery heating, range, and weight issue of most EV are facing.

    • @whatsupusa
      @whatsupusa 10 місяців тому

      I'm also excited about the potential for solid-state batteries to revolutionize EVs. Solid-state batteries are more energy-dense, have a longer lifespan, and are less likely to catch fire than traditional lithium-ion batteries. If solid-state batteries become commercially viable, they could make EVs much more affordable and appealing to a wider range of consumers

    Today in Houston I went to a dealership. $39.6K MSRP for a new 2024. Non negotiable. And there was a $5859 list of non negotiable add ons. The InterWeb said the car has been there 6 months. I laughed out loud in the sales managers face and left dancing while holding up my check book over my head. Let the car rust one the lot. 😁

    • @whatsupusa
      @whatsupusa 10 місяців тому

      I recommend doing your research online before you go to a dealership. This will help you get a sense of fair market value for the car you're interested in. You should also be prepared to walk away from the deal if you're not happy with the price. There are plenty of other dealerships out there, so don't settle for a car that you're not happy with.

Also changed transmission, differential and PTO gear oils every 30,000 miles. Hi there, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you're interested in the 7-seater Model Y. It's a great SUV with a lot to offer, including a spacious interior, long range, and impressive performance. I understand that the Model Y is out of your budget at the moment. However, there are a few things you can do to make it more affordable. For example, you could consider leasing a Model Y instead of buying one outright. You could also look for used Model Ys, which are starting to become available at more affordable prices. Finally, you might want to consider other 7-seater EV SUVs that are available in your price range. For example, the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Kia EV9 are both great options. Thanks again for watching!

    It was estimated that you should drive a car that costs 1/3 of your annual income! That’s what it used to be - now you can buy absolutely nothing at that price. Where, when, and maybe, the charge of the battery, the cost of electricity, if your charging in house, and we all know electricity is not cheap.The cost of your time if everything go's well. And worse where you live. It dose not stop. No one especially those electric car companies are thinking only in one thing and that thing has nothing to do with the environment. So good luck in even getting one of these. Yes there will be nothing in good Electric vehicles that will be priced under 20K. Most of the better EV vehicles if you want all the bells and whistles will probably be in the 40-50K price range. That is if you can find a dealership that does not mark up the price even more.

      You're right, there are no Jeeps on my list. Jeep does offer a few hybrid models, but they're not as popular as some of the other SUVs on my list. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Grand Cherokee 4xe are both great SUVs, but they're more expensive than some of the other options.

      And whatever they say, you'll probably end up spending 20% more. What a con. And don't forget paying per mile. London is already studying how they can monetise EV ownership due to the loss of revenues coming in the future.

    • @RBickersjr
      @RBickersjr Рік тому

      @@aacmove well they haven't started that is the US yet. ICE vehicles already pay extra (.009 cents for every galleon of gas) to pay for some of the road maintenance, so I know they're going to have to find a way to replace the eventual loss of revenue with the shift to electric vehicles.

    • @aacmove
      @aacmove Рік тому

      @@RBickersjr the UK already pays the equivalent of $6.97 per US gallon. Fuel duty is currently levied at a flat rate of 52.95p per litre for both petrol and diesel, while VAT at 20% is then charged on both the product price and the duty. And UK drivers have to pay for annual road tax, which is quite expensive for large SUVs like Land Rovers (the most stolen car in London) at £600.00 per year. All that revenue will have to come from somewhere. In France all the motorways are Toll Roads with lots of speed cameras. So, there's a huge difference in the quality of French and UK roads.

      I hear you. It's tough to find an affordable electric car in the US. The prices are still quite high, even for the most basic models. However, I think it's important to keep in mind that the prices are coming down, and there are more affordable options becoming available all the time. For example, the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV starts at $26,595, and the 2023 Nissan Leaf starts at $27,400. These cars have a range of around 250 miles, which is sufficient for most people's daily commutes. I would also recommend checking out the used electric car market. There are often some great deals to be found on used electric cars, and they can be a great way to save money. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

      In reality only the Bolt is affordable and you get tax incentive and rebates. Plus you get a free level 2 install from Chevy, and if you qualify pge will replace your panel and install a level 2 for you, depending where you live and household.

      I looked at the CX50, Rav hybrid, Venza and the Forester. I was going to buy the CX50 but the only way to get the tan or brown interior was to buy a turbo and I don’t want a turbo. They simply don’t last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. Ultimately we chose the Forester Touring. I had a 11 Rav 4WD Limited with the 3.5 V6 engine. After selling it and adding my Forester our insurance premiums Dropped by $300 a year. I asked my insurance agent why it dropped and she told me that it’s because the Forester is a much safer vehicle and has the IIHS Top safety Plus rating. I miss the 269hp V6 engine but I LOVE the AWD system of my Forester. We live in a very mountainous area of north central WA state on a private road that we have to plow and maintain ourselves. We get 5-7 feet of snow every winter and the AWD in the Subaru is the best, hands down. I love the heated front and rear seats and steering wheel. Outward visibility is almost as good as a convertible with the top down.

    It just kills me that cars starting at $30,000 are called "affordable." Yeah, I get it, relatively speaking. But come on. We can't get an electric vehicle in the US that is bare bones and cheaper? Other countries can do it, why not the USA? Some us don't need bells and whistles. We just want a vehicle that we're not paying off for 5 or 6 years.
