I knew it! I so knew the biggest climax revealing the biggest secret of them all was yet to come. And I'd had my guesses for like half an hour but I was sure about it when D'Artagnan said to Queen Anna "There were two?!" That's something only a father would ask, and that was when all the little hints and sidenotes were coming together. I also get goosebumpse everytime the camera shoots to Aramis' face, who realizes he once locked his beloved friend's son away. ...All highly fictional stuff, of course, but very well-thought-out and portrayed! 👌🏼 ...up to Phillippe's final punchline "You were the one wearing the mask."
The best modern day musketeers movie up to this day.

Now I'm at it, I still wonder whether at 5:21 Philippe is asking the permission to join of his father or of the powerful captain of the musketeers they were going to attack, and who was, in fact, still the enemy, able to betray them, sticking out his neck for old friends and better treated lightly? Since he also asks Athos, and since he only knows about some bare seconds who D'Artagnan was...
I only spotted it now, but I love the way Philippe glances sideways questioningly at D'Artagnan, who's equally confused at the Lieutenant's gesture of honor. :)

@@TheMan-je5xq of course not, although the lieutenant at some point drags at least one body back. But it does mean Athos was not restraining himself in any way, unlike what D'Artagnan asked them.

did it mean something Athos waited to join in untill his sword was on top, as if to symbolize, when it came to it, this time he would call the shots :p And how symbolic it becomes then when Philippe put his sword on top of his anyway, as the King he's going to be, he would be the one caling the shots, anyway XD
