I decipher it at the end of the day before the final loop at 34:44 During the first visit there during the first loop I obtain the book with the clues for the pictograms. The deal is that the pictogram locations are set, the code they correspond to is set - so I have made a chart about the clues -> codes which gives me the code when I check the book at that time-stamp during the cut-scene - I never need to go to the reactor and look at the pictograms (well I had to with my very old runs until I figured out that the clues always correspond to a certain number, like for example here 'adds color to tools and schema' is always 35 and so on).

They are a bonus that the player gets by joining Arkane Outsiders (Google it), and as it is something that is available for everyone - it is also allowed to be used in the speedrun (the rules have been made up by the speedrunning community back when the game launched). The Strelak Verso will be added to the inventory after Colt gets his hands on the LPP.

Because it is sometimes faster to get out of the level that way. Also dying three times loops to the morning so I do that when I have done all the tasks I want to get done during that loop/day. Only time when I don't want to do that until the evening is the 2nd to last loop with the Generators as they would reset to being off if I looped. I need to activate them in the morning and then go through the day gathering info.

Thank you. This run was the culmination of the initial runs close to the game's launch up to getting a record back then, then prepping for the live ESA Marathon speedrun event last summer in Sweden and then after event getting back to doing runs and improving my old record by 9 seconds.

Experience and finesse with movement. There is very little wiggle-room there. In my very early runs I did disarm the other mine too as I was not confident enough with my movement. But you pretty much jump onto the pipes in the water from grabbing the battery kicking out from the 5th gen, then start running forward and then turn right and jump diagonally towards the corner of the platform with the 6th gen. feel free to ask questions if you don't understand something. this run was the accomplishment of 3 months of daily attempts. It took me 3 weeks when I started doing attempts for real to get sub 40, old record was around 39:45. A few days later I broke the record and then continued to push it as far as I could which took 2 extra months. This is not a perfect run either, a low 37 is possible if everything lines up perfectly.

With the route and movement+speed I reach the party he will either be dancing with the group of people in the smaller room or he will be standing in the ball room at a set spot. If he is in the ball room he can be shot from the main yard through the window but this is a bit risky as it can alarm Egor on the roof to go invisible and start running away. So I usually check if he is in the ball room while running through the yard, if not - then I can shoot him from the inner balcony. If he is in the ball room there is a small window to the ball room in the same room with the inner balcony. For recognizing him elsewhere, he has the dual red machine pistols on his back.

Yes - as that is what Any% runs are done on, it is not about the combat, it is about the speed. Completing the game as fast as possible. There is a separate 100% category that is done on ultra hard and that is what I play this game on when playing casually.

The pictograms at the reactor are always the same ones at the same place. Only thing that changes between playthroughs are the four clues to them and the order which are found in the book at the safe in Yehrva at Karls Bay. The pictograms always point to the same cassettes/buttons. So once you know the clues you can decode the code without even visiting the reactor. I have made a chart with one or two words from the clues and which number they point to. Like "adds color = 35" "behemoth = 11" and so on. I do the decoding during the cutscene at Karls Bay evening (around 34:20 in this video)

@@vinylvincenzo You need to be in Online mode (maybe Friends mode works too) to be able to enter journal during cutscenes. Either switch to online before Karls Bay or always run Online like I do. The language thing is a chat choice thing (EN/FR/JP) on my Twitch and something to spice things up when doing runs. Certain dialog is slightly faster but then other is slower so in the end it evens out and does not really matter. this is not ultra nightmare. the title says ultra nightmare settings (as in graphics setting), not difficulty. judging by the enemy aggression I think this was done in hurt me plenty.

Bro, I was thinking the same thing I only had one play through of this just recently on ultraviolence and it was 10 times harder looking than this.
