    Ive had 4 plants and not one survived in my house. first 2 i couldnt give direct light so my bad, but the last 2 i followed the instructions to a T and had them exactly where they needed to be and both died. However customer service on the livechat is 10/10. Nobody better to help you. Would definitely reccomend them, maybe im just cursed.

    False. LiDar and radar cannot go through objects. So they would not have detected the car behind the car. At 11:40, FSD detected the SUV just as it got to the edge of your road. We don't know for sure what FSD would have done because you disengaged. FSD likely would have veered left and avoided the SUV. In fact, the SUV stopped before it even blocked your right lane. You were in the left lane and so it is very strange that you turned right into her even though she hadn't blocked the right lane.

    neither radar nor lider would have seen that car much earlier. vis is behind about 0.5 sec anyway. so probably teh decetion was mostly instant. maybe advanced high res radar that gets bounced below/around cars will work, tesla is already testing those afaik. also fsd no matter the sensors would have had time to swerve to the left, as there where not many cars and the white suv was braking visibly. its human error on the lady ofc, but you/your car should have saw her breaking and swerve around the left. fsd will be able to that later, im sure of that.

    This is a huge problem with supervised FSD, and Tesla need to fix it immediately. Look at where people have their hands and feet when using FSD. Typically, they might have one hand loosely on the wheel and their feet might be flat on the floor mat. When a situation like this occurs, if you were driving normally, your foot would move to the brake immediately, and your hands could react immediately. Not so when using FSD. It makes a difference of maybe a second. At 45 mph, you travel 66 feet in a second. I believe if he had his hands firmly on the wheel and his right foot on the accelerator pedal, he would have braked and stopped without hitting the other vehicle. It would have been close but I believe he would have been able to at least brake before impact, and that makes a huge difference in the severity of the impact.

    Really enjoyed your series, hope you continue it. The robotaxi solution to this could be to drive more cautiously (slowly) in similar situations... Main road with a side road and blocked view of that side road. That's part of defensive driving 101.

    FSD is definitely needed badly, so many people shouldn’t be driving but are forced to drive because they have to. This morning coming out from the eye doctor’s office, an elderly man who can hardly moved and using a walker, someone had to help him to put the walker away but he crawled into his car and drove off, pretty scary. We definitely need FSD. So glad that you’re continuing to help to improve FSD, without people like you as beta testers for FSD this past few years, this version won’t have happened so fast. 🙏

    So glad you’re ok and getting a new Tesla. I watched that video several times and think you might have saved her life by not TBone into her car by turning to the right. She made two mistakes, one by driving into the intersection even her view was blocked by the SUV, second stopping in the middle. If she continued forward, you could have missed her car. However I do hope in the future all FSD will be connected to Starlink and can have a bird’s eye view of a larger area so FSD can anticipate faster. Thank you for willing to share this.

      Exactly! One doesn't know what a real person will do when that split second moment becomes a reality. I think both of the drivers had that moment and reacted to what they thought was that moment. Fortunately no one was hurt, that is what counts.

    All those other systems (lidar and radar) running at the same time create more problems than they could ever solve. The more inputs of competing technologies that are interconnected can cause confusion. That's why Elon said that using lidar is a fool's errand. Don't take my word. Do a little research if you're interested in facts. Congratulations on the new car! Great to see you back on the road. Keep up the good work!

    • @withdjvu
      @withdjvu 2 місяці тому

      I agree with what Elon has been saying. More layers/parts = more room for errors and discrepancies. I understand that. I think for Robataxi tho it will have to have extra hardware in the cases where cameras fail. It's a no brainer from a safety perspective. Using liar or radar as backup hardware when cameras fail might be a good workaround imo. They don't need to be used with cameras at all time. But cameras can't function and fail when direct sunlight hits the forward facing cameras. It's a fact. Cameras can see only so much in heavy foggy environment.

    LiDAR and Radar would not solve the blind spot issue, they cannot magically see behind objects. In some experimental systems, they can bounce radar waves around corners to try to detect what's on the other side, but it's not very reliable due to many conditions needing to be met. The only way to fix the blind spot issue is to have the vehicles communicate with each other. When this happens, all of connected cars around you can relay important information such as road hazards and the positions of cars they're tracking. In your case, if that white SUV that was causing the blind spot could tell your car about the Jeep, your car would know to panic brake well before it came into its own line-of-sight.

    • @jakobpcoder
      @jakobpcoder 2 місяці тому

      would that lady have used fsd aswell, there would have been no need to brake, as she would have stopped at the stop sign instead of driving into traffic blindly.... the blindspot is not the problem, the human not follwing the rules and doing stupid stuff is.

    What is needed to eliminate blind spots is International Standards Organization's (ISO's) Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), which is developing communication protocols for Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), etc. It has well proven to be a daunting challenge for FSD to perceive its environment adequately to function safely, and the biggest problem is incomplete information. Vehicles need to know when their paths are intersecting, even without direct visibility. If we could install such networks in human drivers too, that would be great, but we can't. It's a mistake to think "humans can do it with only two eyes, so cars ought to be able to do it with eight." Humans are really crappy drivers, we can do much better than matching humans' dismal safety records. And if we can, it is negligent not to.

    I don't think it was your yoke steering wheel at fault. It looks like you turn it enough to understeer (loss of traction from braking/turning too much) causing you to slide mostly forward. You can hear the squeal of your tires losing traction. I bet you'd see skid marks on the road leading up to the collision. I doubt you could've avoided that accident from steering right. If you didn't brake and steered left, you might've had enough traction to swerve around them. Saying FSD is not perfect, while I agree, it did not make a mistake here. No one could have avoided that accident. Not you, not FSD. That other vehicle effectively popped out of nowhere and it was not possible to avoid it. Expecting it to be better than people is not reasonable. LIDAR and RADAR would not have helped here either. They are also line of sight and would not have reliably detected that vehicle either. That other vehicle is 100% at fault, and should not have entered the intersection without a clear view.

      WRONG: there was plenty of time to brake and steer right IF HE HAD HIS HANDS AND FEET ON CONTROLS instead of counting on FAILURE SELF-DRIVING!

      💯🎯 The haters are saying they could have avoided it, but data shows humans get in more accidents than FSD Beta, let alone (Supervised).

    Uh, could have swerved around it. You hit the bullseye.

      He definitely swerved the wrong direction, it actually looked like the Jeep driver was able to stop before getting fully in his lane. But I understand during these panic situations it's hard to think logically.

      That is true. In hindsight, it would've been better to swerve in front of the Jeep, but there was no easy way to decide in that split second "Oh shit" moment what the Jeep was going to do. If the Jeep committed to completing their turn and didn't stop in the middle of the intersection, then the Tesla may have been successful in avoiding the accident.

      @@TheSeanUhTron the braking of the jeep was visbile, but both human and system where to slow to detect it and went into panic mode. i also first thought the jeep would keep rolling out/accelerate even, so in that case going for the rear of the car would have been the right choice.
