Secret Birthplace of the '91 GMC Syclone!
In this episode you will learn a little know secret about the actual birthplace of every 1991 GMC Syclone. I also share my personal journey from the mid 80's that lead to my interest in the Syclone as well as other Turbocharged GM vehicles like the Buick Grand National and the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. You also get to see my budget attempt at a "Grand National Inspired Pickup" that I built in the late 80's when my attempt to purchase a brand new 1987 Grand National was derailed by my inability to get the loan. And we talk street racing too!

I think that a 151 cu. in. OVH Valve GM 4 Cyl (Iron Duke?) with a few Cliffords Performance parts, such as camshaft, intake, 4-barrel carb, and slightly oversize valves would give it some oomph and still would be very, very reliable! Great related videos!

Old cars should not have low-profile tyres with giant alloy Tonka wheels. Cartoon diameters are starting to look daft on modern plastic boxes, but the proportion of the wheel and tyre has a particular aesthetic relationship with classic bodies (including many pre-'90s cars) that is lost without high-profile rubber. Steel wheels, even if chromed, should be used on cars from the era before alloys became ubiquitous. Perhaps, one day, we can reverse the trend, and designers of new cars will begin to shrink diameters to serve the visual art, and only use larger wheels to serve the functions of braking, turning circle and limiting deflection.

Your shock dilema reminded me of a problem my dad and I had with an up- tilted bumper on a 65 Mustang we brought down level. So you all most had the plan when you used the racthet strap to pull the leaf spring over but you were probably a bit wonky a 3am. 😉 Place the floor jack under the leaf spring. Run the ratchet strap or a chain under the jack and and then up and over the frame and connect the ends. Now all you have to do is jack the leaf spring up, and the frame will come down due to the straps. Bobs, your uncle! 👍
