Poodles?? Really? Smart yes, sometimes too smart. Jealousy and loneliness can be a real issue. They are high attention dogs, not the easiest to keep. (So are sheepdogs) Especially compared to a Labrador and/or golden retriever. Anyways the term well behaved is a matter of how you raise them, just like kids.. Background, living conditions and training play a key role in al of that. Sure some are more easy to train by default but the rest depends on other circumstances. Anyways, poodles are known for their biting incidents, its just less recorded because their bites often do not require emergency aid and/or hospitalization. For any young family and/or 1st time dog owners they are not the best to start with.

Cavalier King Charles have lots of health problems so are not low maintenance and could have high vets bills which pensioners will struggle to pay. Bichons and Shih tzus need regular trips to the groomers at £30 to £40 a time.

Do not give your dogs grapes

and they are now woefully overbred.
