Invest in a countersink bit. Easier to fill your screw holes, and it keeps things more symmetrical. It also looks better. Good job for your first run at it... regardless of your rookie hiccups
No offense, but you need to work on your cutting skills. A lot of that bracing pieces are short, which means they won’t be doing anything.
It seem this would be a nice tank in the end, but it seem the 4 and 5 episode didn't exist? A few questions and suggestions: * Does it hold up and is it water tight? It seem most builder put in at least 4 layers of Pond Shield. If 2 layers is enough, that save a lot of money! * Save some time on painting, you dont have to mask when you paint the black paint on the tank, just let it dry and then mask the black from the painting on the main tank, it doesn't matter if it's some black paint under there. * When masking the black paint to apply the main colour of the tankfirst apply a thin coat of the black over the edge of the tape, rhis way the main colour cant bleed under the tape, making the line between colours super clean. * And, when I'm at it, its even better to do the lighter colour first it's a bit easier to cover a light colour with a dark than the other way around!
There is no possible way that is waterproof or strong enough to hold that amount of water. I’m sorry to see there is no part 4 😬
If its made correct it is no problem. It will hold the water. But there need to be glued really good because there is the glue will hold it together. There need to be more layers of pond sheild. There need to be silicon around the edge of the glass that is what makes it hold the water and not leak. There is videos of simular tanks that function perfekt. For looks I should have use fillers to cover all the skrew holes and gaps. And round all the edges of the woods. If take the time and not skip any steps this kind of tank can be both very safe and look really good.
@@fortressfrazze3777 yes. I have seen other videos. This tank, in particular, is what I am talking about. Nothing here was done to the degree necessary to be successful
The first coating of PondShield can and even should be a bit diluted and put on fast and in a thin coat. This will adhere to the wood fibres and make a fairly watertight seal. This give really good adherence to the wood and also make the next coat easier to apply, since it barely soak into the tree. Glass fibre coating should be between second and third layer of PondShield.
Is the tank still up and running?
You talk a lot in your videos !!
Wishing you many blessings in your life...🍀❤🙏🐳 Bummed to see that you quit making this video series.. (So, cannot sub. 😐)
Dognose puffer
it leaked.
what happened to part 4?
show the tank currently please.
Ahhh you quit!!!
Great job dude... thats a follow!!!
Needed to put more pond shield in the tank. At least 2 more costs
You should use rust oleum stone paint it would give a really nice look
Wouldn’t hold water tho
So I'm guessing... it leaked like a sieve? 🤣 it looked to me like you spent more time painting the tank than actually waterproofing the inside considering the volume of water and damage that could cause
watched all the parts were part 4 haha theres only 3 parts am from uk and enjoyed the 3 parts
you will be fine without sanding the plywood. The surfaces have a ton of texture to bite onto. They do have a bit of a coating on them, but i think the epoxy will be the last thing you need to worry about
Hey man nice video. You do a great job in front of the video. Keep coming with the videos you got a good shot at these kinda videos!
This is the 2nd plywood tank series I have watched w/ no conclusion lol. Makes you wonder what happened and if its worth the trouble
Would love to see a update!
Great video man
What type of plywood did you use ?
furniture grade plywood sheets of 4' x 8' x 3/4" is what Ive used on all my plywood builds.
What type of wood did you use in trying to upgrade from my 240 and build a 400 gallon
How’s the tank coming I really want to see how it goes and what are the dimensions of the tank
Pretty good job, really curious to see where your at with the tank currently , and the filtration
