GOT biggest virtue is that it has shown us, nothing is good or evil, nothing is good or bad, everyone has a personal motivation. Like in this scene, these soldiers are Lannisters, even though they are simple, normal people with family, history, plans, and they are not evil.

Something in the base notes it clashing so much during the pre-chorus, Ed’s definitely hearing and going great staying in tune

Some pviewers comment _"How is this cringey. He only has like 2 fucking lines,"_ but there, within that question, is the answer. The "cringe" is obvious in the painfully awkward forced presence in very obviously insistent and persistently recurring clumsy close-ups, sometimes distractingly out of focus, though not enough to make the crooning muppet unrecognisable, showing just how much the producers &co. wanted to capitalise on the appeal of this lowest common denominator of popular culture for the masses. And the amusing answer is, that it takes a special kind of cringe puppet to condense so much cringe into so little being communicated. (obligatory "lol") Then again, that's hardly surprising - both him and the show-makers have by now mastered the gift of saying little with much noise and pomp, Ed Sheeran through his music. A master of rehashing tired old tropes in vapid ways, in "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." (Obviously, in the case of Sheeran, "fury" is generally with "syrupy melodrama" of discount-bin cheap soap flakes emotion.)

It just occured to me that they are singing Symon Silver Tongue's song about Tyrion.

I loved this scene, you can tell that these soldiers are younger , and different from the other mindless idiots in the lannister army from their very first sentence. Its a nice scene beacause it makes the soldiers seem more human , and remind you that they all have their own lives, all of them. And it reminds Arya of how much she misses her family.

09/18/2022. 2 observations I happened to make and choose to post here: 1. Ed Sheeran doesn't deserve as much public scrutiny for his appearance here. He did not seriously damage the overall plot. 2. Not enough credit is given to Billy Postlethwaite for his performance as one of the Lannister soldiers. He is no doubt just as excellently talented as his father Pete (R.I.P.) because he must have learned much from him.

It was one of signs that this series is going down.
