Idk if the block is exactly the same, as far as I know, the exhaust manifolds aren't interchangeable on non vvti too vvti, so I'd imagine the blocks are a bit different as well.
I've owned both. The difference is night and day, better low end power and a little more top end. The 5 speed trans really helps the engine carry it's rpm through the gears compared to the ole 4 speed
@@SlightReturn666 00-04 tundra had a 4 speed. I've owned two 00's and currently own an 05. 4runner/gx470/land cruiser/lx470 etc got the 5 speed transmissions earlier on
Just asking, both very reliable, BUT - Is there a RELIABILITY "nod" to one engine, vs the other ??? Looking at buy a mint condition NON VVt Toyota with 175,000 miles. Very good Service History (belt/pump changes, etc) ANY THOUGHTS ??
Hi there , would it be possible to disable the vvti on these and get them running....or if possible.... if you have a non vvti 2uz that's had head and block damage, take out the cams on the vvti head, and then put in the non vvti cams and block off the cam position sensor ?
Would there be any difference between the two when it comes to the timing belt/water pump etc? I’m abt to do a vvti version in an 05 4Runner which will be my first one.
So wich one?
Thank you general
Can you swap a VVTI engine into a non-VVTI truck?
So which one will be more reliable? Gues non VVTI becouse has less parts in it to fail?
Look into VVTI and timing belt.

The Vvti ones have a sir assist outlet and non do not .. that’s why they do not exchange
@@JorgeGonzalez-nc7uk ah, thanks, I didn't know that.
Thank you
I have a non-VVTi V8 4Runner. Works absolutely great and is so so strong… I can only imagine how good the VVTi ones must be.

@@Zoom-ui2pf none of the V8s ever had 4-speed transmissions. Since 2003 ever 4Runner V8 was equipped with the 5-speed.

hope you did it

So which one is better in being STOUT? Non VVTI or VVTI
This

Why is the low mileage 4.7 VVTI engine in the machine shop?
.
When you look under the hood what would you look for were it’s stays vvti
In the Land Cruiser or LX470, the VVTI has a black intake versus silver in older models.
You can tell by the year of the vehicle, 05 and on had vvti.

Yes, vvti controls valves individually. Non vvti would have exhaust valves and intake would be same
@deryckallen i wanna hear updates from you about vvti swap😇

Si estubiera en español 👍👍👍
Cierto amigo, también tengo una tundra y chulada de camioneta
Excellent info.
Can we swap the engine?
