Making the Zebrawood Snake Puzzle

In this old barn in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Peter Chapman developed his first sequentially locking 3 dimensional puzzle, the snake. Since 1981, he has added to his line of puzzles that move and articulate like the animals they represent. Sons Genesis and Noah grew up learning and working with their father. They are joined in the studio now by Billy Walshe, a fellow woodworker and videographer...
I actually just found one of your handmade wooden snakes at a good will for $3. It is 19" long and Signed and dated 2006. It even still has the little mouse inside it. I brought it home and started googling it and found this video. This is truly a treasure.

I have collected 8 of these puzzles over the years. Amazing art form. Beautiful wood. Was fun for grandkids for many years-under my careful supervision. Once I contacted the artist for extras on the eye pins and insides (Jonah, mouse, etc.) in case grandchildren lost them. He kindly provided.
