I actually just left last week, rates are in the toilet, deductions through the roof and nothing but cheap ass heavy lumber loads. Didint see a positive settlement in over a month. Was basically living of cash advances. On top of that i couldnt keep my truck out the shop. I just took a local job with JB Hunt doing the Home Depot account making $1800 weekly.

problem is its damn near impossible to gross that much here, you will be lucky to break $4500 gross. I'm thinking about either going back company or finding something else. I cant feed a family on what im bringing home.

@@Againsttheworldlogistics I know because if you gross 5k a week. They take 35% . You got 3250$ left. $1500 in fuel, leave you with 1700, truck payments and insurance, you only take home about 800$ 😂😂😂😂

@@Againsttheworldlogistics I've done it myself. That's why I made myself get in that habit. We had a driver just last week drop a trailer on it's nose loaded with 50k lbs of treated lumber. . He thought that he was going to drop and hook and the forklift driver wanted it around the other side of the plant and he has already pulled his pin. He jumped in the truck, released the brakes and took off. Crushed the landing gear, bent the nose of the trailer and shifted the load.

@ivoryvaughns3579 To be honest, if you don't have someone at home that helps with the bills Boyd ain't it. Your guaranted to have a breakdown and their rates are horrible. Most of their loads are lumber and that season is coming to an end. You will go weeks without a check because your deduction are about $3500 a week, that's including fuel. Most times you might only gross a little over $4k a week and that's a full weeks worth of loads. God forbid you miss a day because of a breakdown or a shipper or receiver holds you up your screwed. If your young and not allot of bills and can afford not to go home and be without a check for a couple weeks then you'll do ok, but if your the breadwinner you will be stressed out behond belief. I'm at a point now where I'm questioning if I want to go back company or just leave and get a local job.

They have one of the better LP programs out of most of these companies. But they are indeed pimping you. You’re gonna get a repaired spare truck and you better pray it doesn’t break down. They love running game on you as soon as you get into the door, making it seem gravy. And the percentage deal doesn’t make sense to me because they can manipulate and play with the rates. I’m sure the sales team does this. They forsure getting theirs on the backend.

There is defiantly more woman in trucking today than before, especially in the van division. I'm also seeing allot of woman doing flatbed now also. Look into these channels that i follow that are woman in trucking, Flatbedding with Jada, MisFitFlatbedHer, or RoadRunna Nia they have real good content.

Beware, front facing camera and their Fleet managers act like they’re better than you. Everyone from shop is upset especially the guy you gotta get equipment from after orientation. The only cool people I met were the orientation lady Lydia, Nick, BJ, Daniel and a couple of drivers. They also will nickel and dime your first couple checks for equipment unless you bring you own.

It depends on your dispatcher and your expectations it’s a decent company for starting out but there’s definitely other options and just know you’re going to work for every single penny.

Low rates and if you don’t get a decent dispatcher then you’re screwed. Boyd has a high turnover rate

@morgan_lt8996 I left Boyd, the money just ain't there. I was actuality going to go back to Wylie but they didn't have any regional positions open. I wish I would have e never left Wylie, going to Boyd was the biggest mistake I've ever made. Right now I took a local job with JB HUNT home everyday on the Home Depot account.

@@ivoryvaughns3579 honestly if you come over here stay company, if your plan is to go lease purchase after a while go to WTI, they have way better freight and better rate per mile. I’ve been doing lease purchase for about 2 months now and have only seen 2 good checks, other than that I’ve been in the negative because of constant breakdowns. Lease purchase over here is for someone that had no bills at home and can afford not to get a check for weeks at a time.

@@Pyrex_lex it’s not bad company side, but once you do lease purchase it’s very hard. Rates suck, breakdowns that you have to pay for from day 1 of signing your lease. I’m at a point where I might have to give the truck back. I haven’t seen a check in 3 weeks because the truck keeps breaking down. They do have loads out of Fredrick MD, but they don’t pay shit and they’re heavy, but if you going company it won’t matter.

@@Againsttheworldlogistics Boost uses towers from all major carriers. That’s why it has better service. It uses AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon’s towers. It’s helped me out a lot.

@@412hwc I still feel like it’s leaking from somewhere else. I checked the oil and it’s not there so it must be either leaking into the erg or the exhaust and burning off because I don’t see any coolant on the ground even after idling all night. Most of our loads out of Arconic aren’t really that heavy most of the time. They’re usually around 34-40k.
