Loneliness Impacts 1 in 5 Arizonans: Here's How to Get Help!
Loneliness is a common feeling that can impact anyone at any time. However, when loneliness persists and leads to more serious health concerns, it's important to seek help. According to a recent Gallup survey, over 1 in 5 people worldwide are affected by loneliness.
In this video, we introduce Michael, a licensed counselor from Cornerstone Healing Center, who shares insights into their new Virtual Intensive Outreach Program (VIOP). Michael discusses the signs that loneliness has become a problem, such as isolation, intense sadness, and feelings of disconnection or being misunderstood.
The VIOP at Cornerstone Healing Center offers comprehensive support through one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions, all conducted virtually. This allows participants to continue their daily routines while receiving the support they need in the evenings. The program aims to help individuals reconnect with others and find their way out of loneliness, depression, and anxiety.
If you or someone you know is struggling with loneliness, this video provides valuable information on how to reach out for help and the benefits of therapy. Michael emphasizes that while loneliness is a feeling, isolation is a choice, and choosing to seek help can make a significant difference.
Don't let loneliness take over your life. Watch this video to learn more about how Cornerstone Healing Center's Virtual Intensive Outreach Program can help you find connection and wellness. Cornerstone Healing Center

You can definitely tell the early era til around 2016 was fueled by alcohol. And those were the best JEW records. But glad he's sober now.

31:00 that's it... It sounds so simple, but in reality it IS so hard to get to that point. Especially when all your life is doubting in your self worth. Jim, thank You for this interview as much as for your music. I'm dealing with - maybe not addiction itself, but probably both me & my son are autistic, we just started our diagnosis. For me - my entire life was a fight to proper communicate with others. I REALLY wanted to be heard & understood, but always felt like something was missing. My son is exact the same. So we're both fighting with extreme fear of "what if they'll reject me" and almost automatically FEEL rejected by everyone. I mean, Jim said a lot of universal truth, that is precious for everyone fighting with some mental difficulties. This man is kinda my role model for several years now... Thank You Jim for being so honest. Love ❤

I started listening to Jimmy Eat World in the Clarity era… they changed my entire musical direction. i started playing music in that scene and drugs and alcohol were a big part of my journey. I went into recovery 4 years ago and had no clue Jim was in recovery. It’s so good to hear his story, and man can i relate.

I have been a Jimmy Eat World fan for a long time and didn't know this about Jim. I watched and 'liked' this video two years ago when I had a major drinking problem... Jim's self awareness was on another level to me at the time. This May I will be two years sober and it was a pleasure watching this video again through a sober lens. Life really is so much better, and I feel so much more connected to myself so I can better connect to those close to me.

Wow there are some hard people in this world. Idk how jared gordon survived all this. It would break most people. It inspires me that no matter how mess up your foundation is, if you are prepared to put in the work/pain and process your thoughts/trauma you can overcome it. God bless Jared Gordon and i hope i can become half the man he is.

This honestly really resonates with someone who has depression, but not an "ism". Depression is a way an addiction to being sad because that's easier than being happy and present in life.

Let me summarize the utility of D.A.R.E with one anecdote. Child me: Dad, what does DARE stand for? Dad: I dunno, Drugs Are Really Excellent? 20 years later - oxy addict. Totally clean and sober for 3 years and 3 months now - and I mean totally clean; no methadone, no suboxone, nothing. And FWIW, to anyone going through that, I recommend just going cold turkey (assuming you’re not doing heroin and would literally die if you went cold turkey); if you do use those, you’re just trading one addiction for another. ESPECIALLY with methadone; that stuff lasts forever; for me, it was better than the pills which got me addicted. Cold turkey is the way to go IMO, and I know everyone is different, but addicts are addicts for a reason, and we’ll get addicted to whatever makes the pain go away. Just tough it out for a few weeks; when you start feeling actual feelings again, you’ll feel very strange, and very good, and you get addicted to recovery. Put on an old Jimmy Eat World album (Futures still does it for me) and let music remind you what it was like to feel things. 😀 EDIT: interesting that “Integrity Blues” was the first sober album, that’s actually my second favorite album of theirs

What he said at 26:00 was so immediately relatable for me, as someone in early recovery (~6 months) having to reconnect with my art as a whole new mindset takes root, one where you can no longer honestly let your mind veer off into the negative (and just stop there) which is what a lot of rock is about-and that’s not a bad thing-since it’s usually the ritualistic gathering of band-fans around that shared suffering which allows for a catharsis. But as an individual artist, whose lyrics are solely one’s own at inception, it can feel dishonest to just put out a kind of half-thought which hasn’t necessarily been exposed to our newfound recovery-based thinking. This would render the art in itself disingenuous, since it was not a Final Product but an incomplete attempt at art. It’s difficult though, to feel like your art is bold and flashy when you’re just talking about recovery. But I’ve found that the real good music in the world (Floyd, the Stones, Dylan, great composers, Sabbath, Yes-these are just some of my favorites) incorporates that sense of SEEKING THE MYSTERY EVEN IF IT DECIDES TO EVADE ONE FOREVER, that recovery is all about...we are martial artists seeking to perfect our Art in order that we may someday Understand truly what IT is we are Doing.
