Thanks for the ride.....love Cedar Key...Yes indeed....must go to Steamers...it is the best...lol...God bless
I wonder if my mother’s best friend was in this video. She ended up dying in the Tenerife disaster. And incidentally, I myself am now a Boeing 747 Captain.
Last time i ride PanAm is at 1991 just a few months before it goes bankruptcy. Now i see the fate, many of them was gone. Very dissapointed. But atleast we still have PanAm Experience in LAX. We will miss you PanAm. I will do anything to make you back...
There's an older UA-cam video somewhere, I think from the 1940's, where the stewardess applicants were asked to pull-up their skirts, so the hiring committee could check out their legs. Times have changed.
Yes Brian, and some day we'll be gawking at old news reels of you and the facists news networks that were in the tank for the leftist democrate party. Incredibley repeating the same talking points on all the alphabet networks like parroting robots where you all seemingly were unaware that most people could see right through your propaganda. Hopefully the narrator in the future talking about the communist news networks of the past will be less narcissistic and be able to speak honestly and not willing to just speak the party line
Avoid air travel whenever possible. At one time (20th century) it was a delightful experience. Today, it’s a dystopian event.
So they aren't taught to twerk?
Did you notice the food that was served to COACH passengers?. When the stewardess in the US where beautiful, polite..
❤❤❤❤
It's a parking lot now...
I know, it's very sad.
I remember the beautiful sexist flight attendance, not realizing it was sexist at the time. Born in 1966 I remember staying at hotels that had doors adgent to tge hotel room next to you, my cousins and i often ran thru them so much fun ... I ask people if they remember the rooms like that , they think I'm crazy or confused lol Military family's traveling and meeting family for vacations before final destination Pam Am hotel stays with dors to entire with existing outside and wonderful pools Great memories I loved watching Mad Men and would love to watch entire series of Pan Am Im searching for option to watch Help greatly appreciated And Thank You For Listening ❤
Pan Am is on Tubi.
In the 1960's and 1970's air hostess's love their job but now air hostess's hate their job today.
That's because the job has changed !
Truly amazing how many friends I can recognize here without even seeing the faces❤
The building at 2:32 is still standing on NW36th St in Miami. Unfortunately it is surrounded by fencing and is locked up tight. It is beautiful and a stellar example of mid-modern architecture. It is quintessential Miami. Behind it was their pilot training center; still in use as a pilot training center, called Pan Am Flight Academy.
I was a flight attendant for a private charter company, and we did a lot of our training at this Pan Am training center in Miami. It’s like walking into time capsule. I don’t think they’ve changed anything inside! (This was about 7 years ago).
I long for those days
Same for me!
I recently retired from working for American Airlines for 33 years as a flight ✈️ attendant I had a great career I miss it so much
Here's what I don't understand: Why did they even tear down the Worldport in the first place? Delta and the Port Authority said that the building could not be saved, but I think they just didn't even try. With enough work they could have restored and renovated this iconic structure to where it would be convenient for the passengers and have an iconic saucer at the same time. And it is not just the now-gone Terminal 3. Terminals 2 and 7 are slated to be demolished next year, 2023. Those structures have an iconic history as well. Why can't they just modernize them or incorporate them into new terminals? This is happening all across the world right now, as old iconic structures are being torn down for new ones, history fading away. It is so sad to see this happen.
People don’t value history only progress until it kills them
I guess this was made before he was fired for being a liar.
Duct taping increased since this aired! A few flight attendants have been attacked, to the point self defense training offered.
Back then, a goal was often to find a husband.
With stuff like that in California, an earthquake or two takes care of things, when people can't decide whether to tear something down. Nature does it for them. At LAX, aside from Theme Building, not much survives from the original design. Due to space constraints, they kept building things on top of one another, to achieve what we deal with today. :/
you can't just make a quake happen at will
National Airlines served steak to main cabin passengers.
All extremely attractive, and not a fat moose in the lot
Air Travel is a bit like life in general. It is what one chooses to make of it. Nowadays planes are much more modern, energy efficient and high tech than they were back in the 1960s. We also have options like Basic Economy, Wi Fi, seat back entertainment and Frequent Flier programs, none of which existed back then. Enjoy.......
Bottom line BE NICE
opened in 1963

This terminal is beautiful, why did they take it down :(
It’s in terminal 4 now
Delta moved to Terminal 4, which is much newer.
Poor maintenance and neglect.
'Slightly offended'? Not being sheep that's unlikely.
It was a simpler, better time Williams....you jerk.
“Some need to be duct taped to their seats “ 😂😂😂
Some attendants nowadays behave as if they have a chip on their shoulders.
Im thinking of united make the man hurt and kick him off the plane
And as back in the 'old days', flight attendants still have just 90 seconds to get *everyone* off of an aircraft for whatever safety reason(s). It used to be (not sure about today) the FAA oversaw the emergency training & if a score of 95% was not made from that intense training, the airline was *not* allowed to hire you.
People back then had class and pride.
Indeed. Passengers used to pinch the "stewardesses" bottoms discreetly, with class.
@@elisa7881 Sure Did! 😆 🤣
It's the truth @@loristewart800
In the very beginning, there were only men stewardess.
Steward
the narration of this video is unnecessary and annoying.
Tuzno i jadno 😪😪😪😪😪😪🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖
Today I have too say why the fuck would they tear this down because the new terminal that they want to build looks ugly as fuck.
T4 isn't much better than this was
Now we have screaming brat kids and barking dogs crapping all over on flights. Why I refuse to fly anymore especially to Germany. My relatives want to see me they can Skype or fly themselves her. Last trip I made to Germany was 2011. That was the biggest nightmare I've ever experienced!! I swear that 3 kids NOT babies screamed almost the entire 9 hour flight and at least 3 dogs on board. So called service dogs to people that appeared perfectly able.
Does anyone else think Brian Williams has the most annoying voice on TV news?
Hahaha.. I laugh at this so much.. Well, I am apart of this work force as well. I am a former Purser Flight Attendant
I miss the flying the older 727-200s and the DC-10s. Then as a couple of years went by flying the 747-400 to Hong Kong and Hawaii was nice. Then the 777-200s for Hawaii started to be used more for Hawaii in general. I miss the crew rest beds upstairs in the 747's back in the Economy. Then we pushed the 777-300s to Europe for a number if years. Life flying was very nice. When I studied World History in college and saw the beautiful cities in the text books I always said that I want to go to those beautiful cities around the world. Well, I have been to many if those wonderful countries and it had been so nice.
Those were the days when men were men and women were women and there was no guess work involved!! They are gone forever!! Now what you see up in the air is completely different to the golden days of air travel in the 60s and 70s!! The flight attendants are now rude uncouth ( not all) and frequently big as a horse!! Not a shred of gracefulness and style.
You forgot to mention, the passengers have changed a bit as well ...😂
flying used to be a dressed up event. now, sandals, T-shirts
And sometimes pajama bottoms on planes!!
Those days before glorious revolutionary Party Approved Correct Thinking and Speech.
Slim sexy attentive to pax needs - not now - fat clumsy uncaring fuglies
Thanks for the video. I was so angry that they demolished this building.
sigh, these Modern Airlines of the US have no respect for the past, WE NEED A PAN AM MUSEUM
