the correct pronounciation of caher is actually CAHHER. do NOT drop the H.. cathair (cahher) means a city as well as a fortified town. In other countries, they call it a burg, burgh. In scotland, another celtic state, t hey pronounce burgh as burrow, as in Edinburrow.

reviving the irish lingo is like trying to convert most of southern ireland back to roman catholicism. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME..

why do the locals pronounce cahir as Care? they are actually dropping the H, even though they like to say they never drop the aitch!! only the english do, they say. yet most irish pronounce Humour as Yew-mor!
