Giving Thanks for the Provisions of God
"As you celebrate this fantastic American institution of Thanksgiving, I invite you to be reminded of the first fruits that are in God in Christ Jesus and be grateful for what he provided-the fruitfulness of the earth, but also the fruitfulness of your life in every way imaginable."
In this week's video, Bishop Alex explains what he loves about American Thanksgiving, particularly as contrasted with the Canadian Thanksgivings he celebrated as a child, and reflects on the importance of continuing the tradition of gratitude for the harvest.

The Importance of Protecting Our People

"It is tragic and horrible when vulnerable people, children in particular-instead of encountering life and health and hope and home, grace and affirmation in the life of the church-are harmed by ministers of the gospel. It is tragic, it is sobering, and it is something that invites us to repentance, individually and corporately, for the way we fail in this manner and we ask the grace and mercy ...

The Anatomy of Forgiveness
Переглядів 532Місяць тому
"We are living in a culture that feels to me like it doesn’t forgive sins. As soon as somebody makes a misstep, there’s a lot of writing people off and saying, effectively, 'you are dead to me.' That's never a Christian option. There is a real need for us to believe not only that my sins can be forgiven, but that the sins of others are also forgivable." Bishop Alex reflects on the statement in ...
What Is Anglicanism? Our Governance

"One of the things that is true about Anglicans is that we have retained those orders of clergy that we see written in the New Testament: bishops, priests, and deacons... the church as a whole is led by the clergy, but governed by the councils of the church. In this week's message, Bishop Alex introduces our new series on what it means to be Anglican. S...

The Rogation Days are days of prayer and supplication observed in the Catholic Church and some other Christian traditions. These days are generally celebrated during the week leading up to the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, which commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven. During the Rogation Days, the faithful gather to ask for God's blessing on the land, crops, the work of farmers, and all human labors. Processions are held, fields are blessed, and prayers are offered for God's protection over creation and humanity. The Rogation Days are an opportunity to reflect on our dependence on God in all things and to seek His providence and care in our daily lives. In the Catholic tradition, the Rogation Days are a special occasion to pray for the protection of creation, social justice, peace in the world, and the needs of the most vulnerable. It is a time to come together in prayer and supplication, recognizing our dependence on God and our responsibility to care for His creation and our brothers and sisters in humanity.

I was discipled and grown in the following youth camps during high school and college. Very significant!

Im Pentecostal but attend the local Anglican church on Sunday mornings , I'm their organist. They only ever use the Book of Alternative Services but I do have a Book of Common Prayer that I read daily. Friends of mine attend a GAFCON church but use a more modern Book of Common Prayer. I receive the Eucharist and do my best to live as scripture teaches. Maybe I'm more Anglican than I thought.

Thank you for putting that in prospective for me. I wanted to acknowledge saints but being protestant, I was fearful of idolizing them . I still wouldn't pray to them , our mediator being Christ but it's good to have holy men and women to look up to. Sadly we tend to only recognize them as being saints after they've passed into eternity. God grant that some day, after living the best I can in this life that someone would see characteristics in me that line up with sainthood / hero.

Wonderful! We need this. We need to know and learned and be reminded of what we believe. I just wish our church had kept the 1928 prayer book. My layman’s understanding of Anglicanism is that we are an extension of the original Church of England and we have diverted away from the sadly misguided “modern” changes brought about in the Episcopal church. And this is so important in These terrible times. Christians everywhere need to return to church and to traditional Christian teachings.

Thanks for your question! It is our prayer and expectation, as stated in our Book of Common Prayer baptism liturgy, that all Christians "would persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever they fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord." You can find links to all of the creeds and documents that the Bishop mentioned in the video, along with a link to the text of the Book of Common Prayer, here: www.adpgh.org/what-is-anglicanism/.

@@ic7481 As Article 8 of the Jerusalem Declaration puts it: "We acknowledge God’s creation of humankind as male and female and the unchangeable standard of Christian marriage between one man and one woman as the proper place for sexual intimacy and the basis of the family. We repent of our failures to maintain this standard and call for a renewed commitment to lifelong fidelity in marriage and abstinence for those who are not married." That said, we believe that all Anglicans, like all people, are sinners in need of God's help and the grace of Jesus Christ. www.adpgh.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Jerusalem-Declaration.pdf

To trust God's promises we Christians need to fully understand WHAT THEY ARE! That's where the scriptures take us...and where we are empowered to reclaim the territory the dark side wants to inhabit! Thank you Bishop Cameron for this series. Much Christian survey data (ABS, Barna) tells us that Christian behavior is not transformed by charitable duties, attending church regularly, or other works-related acts, but by encountering the Word of God 4x or more weekly. The fruit emerges from the transformed heart of the Christian.--FHC from St Alban's Anglican Murrysville

Anglicans trusting in the scriptures scramble the devil's intentions! Our playbook is the Bible and we have so many great plays in that playbook; the devil's lies have a slim and uncreative playbook that is always defeated by the Lord's Word carried out by His flock!

Bishop Duncan's "awning" eyebrows have outgrown the legendary Andy Rooney's!!! Time for a threading!

How this defrocked phony, Robert Duncan ever got elected a bishop in the Episcopal church in the first place is truly disgusting. He betrayed his ordination vows and did all that he could do to take the actual legitimate Episcopal diocese of Pittsburgh out of the Episcopal church, along with all the assets of course. Indeed a fraud this man is. A sanctimonious hypocrite. The pretend “Anglican Church in North America” is pathetic and will ultimately fizzle out of existence.

Who is a ‘lost sheep’? Age takes some to the cliff where we seem forgotten. Too late for me to call out and u-Tube helps connection to prophecy with world change. Bless those in truth.

Thanks for the message. The Bible says that we need to forgive each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Eph 4:32)
