Chips Advice: 1. First and foremost it depends on your oil. You need oil with a high smoke point like peanut; it also makes them crispier. Olive oil just makes a soggy mess. 2. Temperature: as hot as you can without creating smoke. The key words here are Flash Fry. Shallow frying is fine as long as there's enough oil to float the chips. 3. I've used a small sauce pot before to mimic deep frying for 1/2 people. Just don't crowd the pot. It lowers the oil temp (which will result in a greasy chip). 4. Drain in a metal sieve/colander if you can (something metal w/ air circulation). Paper towels make chips mushy as they hold in the evaporating steam. 5. Salt while still hot or the salt won't stick.🍟 Love your channel, sorry I had to duck out earlier. My neighbors are still missing most of an exterior wall from Hurricane Milton and they're having trouble wrangling their cats. Trying to catch up now! It's the update I've been waiting for the most (which is exactly when your neighbors will knock on your door). Hope you make an updated recipe video. It's how I originally found you.

Your tip of going to HRV for the heavy hammer is very bad. To get to where the signal fire is, you need to break down bushes. To break them down, you require a hatchet or improv hatchet. The first one isn't a thing on interloper, and the second one needs a heavy hammer to craft. So, basically, that hammer spawn is useless 😐

Heya great guides but where are the rest please?

- If you have a sewing kit (or a fishing tackle) and some cloth, but can't find any hat/gloves, or, maybe you've lost yours in a struggle with a wolf, you can craft improvised hand/head wraps on the go. They are better than nothing when you're freezing to death, and, more importantly, they will save you from getting frostbites which are a permanent -10% max health penalty each time you get them (they stack up to 25 times). - Travois is a godsend now that you can repair it with just a cured deer hide and a cured gut, especially in the early game when your carrying capacity is limited by the lack of items and limited food needed to sustain 'well fed'. You do need 4 cured maple saplings, 2 cured guts, a cured deer hide and a knife to craft it, but the deer hides you can get by pushing deer into wolves, and then scaring the wolves away with a torch, or simply from one of the many ravaged deer carcasses scattered throughout the world. - If you're struggling with food, Bashrobe did a great manual on Ice Fishing, and a bunch of other topics. Fishing tip-ups are totally game-breaking. - You can craft fire-hardened arrows at any fire from sticks and crow feathers (without arrowheads). They wont deal any damage to big game, but they make hunting rabbits and ptarmigans much easier, and you will have maple saplings lying around anyway, so it's a good trade for some durability on your bow, not to mention, it's much better than wasting your regular arrows on this. You can even use them to scare away animals by firing at them from outside of their detection range to spook them, if, for example, you don't want to tangle with a wolf that's barring your path. - If you're struggling with wolves charging at you from different sides, try walking backwards with your bow drawn. Only one animal can charge at you at any given time, and the game only takes your initial position into account when determining their path, so by walking backwards you can force the wolf to come at you from the front every time. And by then, you just release the arrow at the last moment for a sure kill. You can release the arrow a bit earlier if you don't want to take any chances, but if you're not used to the how the bow works in TLD, keep in mind that arrows fly on a parabola, so if you aim straight at a wolf at a certain distance, you can shoot over it.

The bearskin bedroll isnt worth the weight unfortunately.. the improved bedroll is really good to use instead 😉 I think it weighs 1 kilo instead of 3 for the bearskin roll

I now know for sure if Predator Pie removes the parasite chance. It does not. I just hit cooking 5, in a misery game, and cooked up a Predator Pie. Instant 1% chance for butt worms which I got 24h later ending my 71 day run with 63% condition. I know I could press on and get a few more days but it's not worth it to me. Knowing is half the battle.
