Where can I get an X3 coolant expansion tank top in store at?

Just replaced the tank for the second time in a 2008 X5 w/ 4.8l. Don't even consider using the Hella (Chinese) aftermarket version - it lasted 2 year and 2 months. Back to factory part for $159.

Mine cracked right in the edge of the little mold inlet circle on the bottom of the tank. Smallest crack, but lost all my coolant in a matter of minutes and had to get a tow. 2013 X5M, $100k vehicle with $2 quality engine parts. Gotta love it! On the good side, this is my 4th BMW Mcar and this was the first time one stranded me, half glass full maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️

nice video, At 519 another example of not good engineering by a ,suppose to be, high end machine BMW, Its a shame that this was used on these vehicles and IT should be replaced free of charge by BMW!! Even as a recall. unreal

I had the same problem on my '13 35i with 97k miles earlier this year. I was in shopping mall parking lot when the coolant expansion tank went. It was literally pissing out Prestone from underneath, pretty embarrassing. I had to keep topping up the tank to drive back home safely, the took it to the local European auto mechanic who installed a new tank for about $250 parts and labor incl.

To all who watch this video, before you change the tank, change the O rings on the cap, very simple. There is a weep hole under the cap that lets the coolant drain through the center of the tank and it will appear to be coming from the lower part of the tank, when it is the cap. When the low coolant warning shows the tank is already empty and there will be no moisture under the cap. So you will never know that it is really cap and not the tank. God Bless..
