Turning a 100 year old Milk house into a custom butcher shop || Part 1
I need help, input and everything else you want to give me. I'm trying to better utilize the parts of our barn that aren't being used. This milk house has been around long before me, but I've never seen it used as anything other than storage. So, we decided to convert it into something I've wanted for a very long time.
Any suggestions PLEASE let me know

Wait... we have how many calves!? Calving season 2024

We didn't just have our first calf of the season, we had our 1st 2nd and 3rd. 2 heifers and a bull calf that we plan on making into a meat steer. Busy day for us on St. Patricks, must be lucky I guess.

By some crazy happenstance, I went from a tree stand to a spot and stalk hunt. I also pulled off, quite possibly, the best shot I've ever made on a whitetail. Please understand I don't have a cameraman and I had to do what I had to do. With that being said I tried to tell my story to the best of my ability. Hope you enjoy. Joshua is next.

Meat, it's what we hunt for right? Well, sometimes horns, but mostly meat. And we really outdid ourselves on this super simple recipe. I've said it once I'll say it again, I'm no cook but this is as easy and delicious as it gets. 9 years ago, Caleb sat with me in that tree house and watched me take a doe. Fast forward to today and that hunt came full circle. We'll be chasing bucks soon enough, ...

When I started the video I thought you never shot a bow. And making these shots with a 50 pound bow blew my mind 😁 I did actually start this month. So never shot anything and bought a 40 pound Samick Sage. After setting it up, I immediately noticed I could not stretch it to full pull. I ordered the 25 pound limbs and I am still waiting on these to arrive. Btw, you have an awesome practice area

I've shot compound bows since I was 15 (now 39); recurve going on my 4th year now. If I go a couple months without practicing with it, I will STILL have issues with holding my form and shooting. It's a completely different monster. I had to order 40 lb. limbs shortly after getting this bow and then work my way back up to 50.

Your humidity is a little high for my liking but then again, I prefer the “dry method” and usually have my humidity sitting around 30% for the first 18 days then crank up to at least 60-65% the last three days. One thing I would recommend with eBay eggs is to candle them upon arrival to determine if the air cells are intact or not. Usually non-intact air cell eggs requires different incubation techniques to hopefully reattach the air cell in the “right” place.

Yeah, I've been reading about the dry method. I just went with google my first go-round and it worked, it's definitely something I'll look into for next time.

Just an update... this summer will be 4 years since I made this and it's still holding up strong. Inflation has brought the cost up quite a bit, but I still wouldn't change anything on it. I believe it's worth the investment. I would, however, recommend bringing it into a garage or something if you have bitter cold or ice storms where you live.

I got 35# Samick sage straight up being new to bare bow traditional recurve or archery for that matter, I too will be getting a new string and soon 40# limbs, highly addictive hobby 😂. Also will be getting Velcro for the shelf and a leather rest similar to yours. Ditto on the advice , most are great though in my experiences, apparently one dude got deleted for his comments towards me lol I never even saw them . Don't be that dude 😂. I like my sage. I'm at 15-20 MTRS at the moment after three months of shooting recurve, only four days on the sage , I'm going to tighten up on 15 and then 20 and so on.

Ive stopped using heat lamps the chickens do better without it as their bodies can acclimate with the cold. If you ever lose power they could go into shock, get sick and potentially die. They didn't have heat lamps hundreds of years ago no need for them now. Your coop looks well made with good ventilation up top. Make sure your roosts aren't too high so as they are in the draft up top. Best thing to do to help keep them warm is make sure the coop is dry, well ventilated and has no draft in their roost area. Putting hay bales around their run or something to help block horizontal drafts can also help. Also make sure to give them lots of high calorie snacks on the super cold days such as dried bugs. My girls have personally seen -32°F before wind chill with no heat lamp and were perfectly fine
