My photography journey

In this video I talk about my photography journey, where I started, the in-between and where I'm at now. I mention the cameras I've used over the years, why I owned them, how I liked them and I share photos I took with them to give you a better understanding of my journey. Thank you for sharing your time with me, I know how valuable that is and I truly hope you found substance in this video to ...
Early 2020 Photo Walks | Mamiya 645 + Portra 400 & Pro400H
Переглядів 1823 роки тому
Hello hello everybody, it's been a long time since my last upload, per usual. I'm terrible at this UA-cam stuff, I used to be all about this and busted my ass editing all of my old videos, but hey, things change. This video isn't fully edited, but I've had it uploaded as unlisted for nearly 3 months so... it doesn't seem like I'll finish editing it anytime soon (just being real, yanno?). Anywho...
Shooting Medium Format Film | Mamiya 645 + Portra 400
Переглядів 7194 роки тому
My first video of 2020 is here and I am so happy to share it w/ you! I shot this roll the first week of December and have put lots of time into making this video, lets blame it on procrastination (as always). What gear did I use? I used the Mamiya 645 Pro TL, 80mm 2.8, standard prism finder, LUX (iPhone app) to meter my scenes, local lab to develop, Epson V600 to scan and Lightroom to crop, str...
I asked her to be my girlfriend

Jesse and I filmed this video on September 30, 2018. I was so nervous and excited at the same time! As was she, the difference is that she had no idea of what I had planned. I told her we were going to be filming a "blindfolded guess the item challenge" or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays, as you already know that wasn't what we were filming. I hope you enjoy the video as much as we do...
Love the shots and the recipe! I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it, it's quite fun to use on a bright sunny day
Looks great, Jon-Mikol! Love the shots you got 👌
Thank you! I appreciate you taking time to leave a comment 😌
☀️
You know it! 🤙🏼
Love the video, recipe, and the photos! Love it all, awesome job!
Thank you so much Colton! I appreciate you bro
Love the +sharpness and +clarity! Grains/softness are sooooo overused, so your recipe is the perfect balance of retro/vintage colors with the present day sharpness!
Aye! I really appreciate this, it means a lot to receive your feedback on the recipe. I recently came to the realization that the +sharpness and +clarity are a great combo for my recipes and will beging to implement those from here on out for better results.
These came out beautiful!
Thank you so much Avery!
Do you have a recipe for those colors?

Chill music, chill vibe, chill video. 🤌🏽
Thank you bunches!

hi stranger welcome back! glad to see you making content again! :)
Hey Brandon, thank you! I appreciate you still being around and taking time to check out this video. I'm looking forward to getting the ball rolling and making more videos centered around photography.
Looking forward to more, super chill aesthetic vibe
Brother thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video, it means a lot. I look forward to making more of these, very fun to make and a good reason to get out and take photos.
Awesome man, I really enjoyed this
Thank you for taking time to watch the video brother, I appreciate you. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I definitely plan to make more videos with this format and better commentary.
*adds klasse s to cart* definitely going to need to sell my Minolta TC-1. The photos are so much sharper.
I'm considering selling mine, DM me on Instagram @jonmikolrosario
@@jonmikolrosario did you sell it yet? Im interested
@@amiramaxwell I did, thanks for showing interest. I have the MiNT Instantkon RF70 for sale though.
Get results bro! Love the channel
Thank you Daniel 🤙🏽
@@jonmikolrosario what’s up Jon-Mikol. When I first saw this video 11 months ago I didn’t make it to last min. This time around I did. Love the last few frames. Love the style of video! My feed back on some landscape frames is to sometimes compose the camera a little lower when there’s a lot of sky. Sometimes too much sky makes it too simple. Include more foreground and it helps things blend more. I’m not an expert but has worked for my style. Another thing I’m working on is filling the frame more. Some photos you took would be a stronger if you took a step or two forward. The bride & groom shoots for example. I have a channel too man! I’d love some of your feedback if you have time!
Came accross here looking for Klasse S reviews, but found myself interested listening to your analysis. Not bad shots man, not bad.
Thank you Roman, Ima have to make some more of these soon since there's not much out there for the Klasse S + Ima start getting some quality lab scans soon which should be a game changer
Some really nice pictures Jon-Mikol.
Thank you Rob, I appreciate you tuning in.
I always have bad luck when shooting cinestill! Great video nonetheless also I just released my first video on my other channel hope you have the time to check it out thanks :) ua-cam.com/video/4I7ivz8WZxQ/v-deo.html
This was only my first roll, currently running some 800T thru the Klasse S though so we shall see.. I'm going to check out your video now, thanks for tuning in Mickey 🤙🏽
Love it and I love you!
Very sweet of you to say babe ❤️
Great Photos👍🏼. You have a good eye.
Thank you so much Cyndi 😁
Scanning your own film really does overall help improve your look. We're ready for your next vid broo!
Thank you Kevin! I'm actually going to be filming a roll analysis today with one of my favorites rolls shot on the Fujifilm Klasse S
Dude it’s so awesome to hear you share your journey and the gear that you used. I’m super excited to see the roll analysis videos, I personally love watching those, specially when I want to shoot for a particular project it’s always nice to do research and see what kind of film would be the best fit, also can’t wait to see the photos with your fiancé 🕊🥺💓 God bless you guys!!
Thank you Mari, I appreciate you taking time to watch the video and leave this comment. I know this video was simple when it comes down to the journey, but I really wanted to cover my bases on the gear that I've used. Roll analysis will be fun, I'm excited as well! I enjoy roll reviews on UA-cam where they review film stocks, my idea is to simply show my images, give context and show how my favorite films look when I shoot them. All my portraits are of Jesse hahah I'm barely in my photos, I wish I was as creative as you when it comes down to self portraits and including yourself in your photography. Thanks again, God bless y'all as well.
Just subscribed. Wainting to watch those promised projects, keep it up!
I truly appreciate that Miguel, thank you!
👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video! Just subbed!! I will be making videos of my film journey soon! This video gave me a boost :)
Thank you! Do it, I'll be subscribing ahead of time. I'm happy this video helped out, stoked to see what you create! 😁
Great video babe! Your photography journey is a great one and it’s only getting better! ❤️
Thank you Jess 🥰
Yo whats up , Like your videos bro ! Keep us updated !
Thanks man, will do!
Utah, right? How are you? It's been so long!
Thought I'd refer you to the video description for more context on the video, thanks for watching y'all! (:
Great shots and great concepts! Now I just need to find a group of friends who are willing to let me try to take their portraits for the first time
So goooooooood <3
thank you so much!!
these photos are nice, man.
Zain Riza oh hey Zain, thanks for making time to check out the video, I appreciate that man! 💯
This is one of my favorite videos you’ve made!!!
Thank you Hannah, I appreciate you sticking around ☺️
Jon-Mikol Rosario you’re welcome😊😊
Great vid bro!
my man! thanks so much!
Love this video! You did a great job babe :) ❤️
Thanks babe, I appreciate you always being so supportive ❤️
Bro this is fire ❤️
Thank you so much Sam, I appreciate you man! 💯
Dude the buzz cut looks phenomenal! Very handsome!! Much better than the long hair! You should really think about keeping it like this!!
Thank you so much! I am keeping it short for a while, I got a low fade yesterday to keep it lookin' clean 🤙🏽
Make a video of your new haircut and the next haircuts. Next time you should shave it with Gillette - real bald! @@jonmikolrosario
that would be hilarious!! 😂
looks fine
Appreciate it 💯
Listen earlier in the week I wanted to shave my head and just wear wigs. And UA-cam keeps recommending me these "I shaved my head" videos including this one. So now I might do it. ❤❤❤ Love yah bih
Aye! I was wondering where these views were coming from 😆 Dude, do it! It feels good and is easy maintenance, I'm not sure if I'll keep it short or grow it out.. time will tell! Much love ❤️
The buzz looks awesome man. Very handsome look for you--much better than the longer hair. You should keep it this way.
RJ, what's up! I appreciate that, I definitely dig the buzz, might keep it faded on the sides and short on top. or... grow it out 🤷🏽♂️ we'll see!
Well, it's your hair, of course, but I like the buzz. @@jonmikolrosario
Now shave it with razor. :-)
Dude, I wanted to, but my girlfriend said I'd look squeaky clean bald and that it wasn't a look 😂
@@jonmikolrosario you should try it once and make video of shaving. If you dont like then it will grow like buzzcut in 2-3 days
I want it to grow out a little now, perhaps sometime in the future I will do that 🤷🏽♂️
Looks great planning on keeping it shaved?!
Thank you! No idea... for now I'm going to let it grow 😆
my boo is back! #TheGarden
Aye! You already know 💯
Yo !
AYE AYE
Why'd you do it though?
I was going to do it sooner than later and thought why not just do it? 😆 hahah
@@jonmikolrosario ahh.
Yay you posted again.😁 Nice video Jon ❤️ Oh and notifications squad
