HARRY was is the best in my mind real world card magic no.pipe dreams.and so manny Aplcation
He move the 4 of hearts to the top of the deck before she even said she'd chosen it, which means its the only card she could see.
There are hucksters, hoaxsters, misfits, swlndlers, gamblers, and mystics. There are illusionists, con artists, politicians, conjurers and magicians. Then, there is Ricky Jay. RIP to a wonderful man who inspired a generation.
Ricky Jay Rocks!
Gary Darwin was my mentor. I never leave the house without a thumb tip.
I've had the prymid since 1996. Love that trick
No the last ones old
The crystal pyranid is a cool trick, but it is "noisy".
David is awesome.
These hyenas could never have 1% of the class or skill Mr. Garcia does.
I remember at work we had to watch a generic training video hosted by Harry Anderson who looked the same he does here. I guess he was really getting involved in everything back then.
I bought his tape when I was 16 years old. Love his tricks as my dad was a bartender back in the days. Houdini videos got me into magic and got me into my career of locksmithing. Scotty was a real professional as I watched his video he really had to do a lot of practice and rehearsal before he performed his magic. He's a legend to me. Thank you for this video.
Here's a small tribute to Mike Gallo with his Hotel Card trick, that I discovered 2 weeks ago here. However, since we're in December, I put an Xmas spin on my patter. Enjoy!! ua-cam.com/video/b9lp4a2qgz0/v-deo.html
The crystal pyramids is a re-release. I used to have it
I’ve been to a grand total of one Abbott’s Get Together, in ‘92. Mullica the guest of honor, Williamson wreaking havoc. But one highlight sticks like it’s super glued to my brain: late at night, watching a smooth Texan(?) make two black queens and four kings transpose on the green felt of the VFW pool table. Years later, I finally stumbled upon Only the Lonely, buried on page 93 of the Collected Almanac. My search was over. It may be my favorite packet trick. Good material for a remembrance of a brilliant guy. Ps his ball and base routine is on pg 141 of the book. (No gimmicks for either phase.)
The hearts effect looked like something that came out of a Christmas Cracker. Wondering was great though.
I loved the first 2 routines & am going back to re-watch them again. Mike's take on the Ball & Vase was also very clever and original (and fooling). I tried doing the Gallo Pitch years ago, but never got the hang of it. I've got a version of the Thieves & Sheep with poker chips, but only played with it a few times (never performed anywhere). Where does one go to learn the first 2 tricks? (Gadabout Coins & the Hotel Card trick)
So, after playing around with the 'Hotel Card' trick here, I'm now working on a patter line about Santa & Mrs Claus ( KH & QH ) booked a well deserved (Vegas) holiday right after Xmas. And to accompany them on the trip, they brought along 4 of the elves ( either 4 Jokers or 4 Aces ). Not only did the hotel mess up & put Santa & Mrs Claus in 2 separate rooms, they accidentally put 2 elves in each room, as well.... (I haven't decided on what I'm going to replace Jack Spade with yet, maybe a magician (Mike Gallo) who just happened to be working at the hotel, etc)
Gregory's "On the Spot" is in my Top 10 of all time. I love "Pointless" it's a great effect that can be incorporated into his "Recap Revisited" but, you have to have Gregory's type of personality to really get the most millage out of it. But then again, isn't that what much of Magic comes down to? Liking your audience, liking your magic and combining what happens when the two comes together.
Correction - it's called the "Dunsbury Aces", which happens to be my favorite all-time card trick to perform. I learned my version from Michael Ammar's ETMCT series, years ago.
I never liked Scotty York. He always came across as a grumpy, condescending old man & was constantly snapping at the audience. I didn't find him funny at all & back then, I was into the good bar magicians (as well as, likeable) like JC Wagner & Doc Eason. That card rise had the look of a Collector's Workshop prop to it. QUESTION: Was it Scotty that did an ungimmicked one cup/3(4) ball version of the cups & balls? (with 2 final loads at the end)
There is a giant wooden version of the Crystal Pyramid here - ua-cam.com/video/HnNiS4cS1Bo/v-deo.html
They all look great, but I think Wondering is the best.🎉
the breaking of the mirror is not realistic though…
Harry Lorayne was a beautiful human being . Got me started on the path to magic. We were pen pals for years, and he sent me every book he'd written for free along with many volumes of Apocalypse Magazine. When I decided I was ready to go pro, he was encouraging, and always full of wisdom. Huge loss.
I have a shuffled deck, never touch the cards, free choice ACAAN, no stooges, the card and number are unknown to the magician until the reveal, a third party counts the cards when removed from the pack, the cards are shuffled by the spectators. Would this meet the conditions of the Bergalas Effect? Cheers PS A clue may be the suggestion that a number close to the middle of the be selected.
Mike Gallo’s gentle personality has a humor and ease that lets you rest as you experience the power of his magic.
where are those footages of Bruce performing from? are them in any old instructional based on the books?
When do y’all think you’ll have the next installment?
I assume that, even with David Berglas, he doesn't allow a stranger to shuffle the cards beforehand. That would make it too difficult.
This is my favorite magic channel. I’m glad you guys are starting to post videos again. Bruce Cervon is amazing. I bought his L&L videos and I’m ready to drop a few hundred for his magic castle notebooks. His version of Hankey pankey is about to go into my repertoire
Gallo Pitch nice
I learned the Gallo pitch 40 years ago from my college roommate who used to attend Fechters, and was so thrilled that we got this lecture from him. I am one of the club members who is a Gadabout coins zealot and there is so much of Mike's magic that I go back to over and over. It is just so direct. His lecture for CC is probably my favorite lecture of all time. I certainly go back to it more often than any other for ideas. I never go to meet him, but I really appreciate his contribution to the magic community.
❤❤❤
Every single time I saw Mike, he was filled with such enthusiasm - and was so kind to everyone around him. That's what stood out to me the most. His kindness and energy. The second thing that stood out to me (and everyone else who met him) - his incredible magic. He will absolutely be missed. RIP Mike.
The Hotel Mystery is an asymmetrical transposition (not asyncronous).
YO MUTZE. !!!!
An amazing magician, whose warm presence will be greatly missed. His ball and vase routine is among my favorites.
Purely amazing.
this is mike's brother joe. great memories of a great magician
My condolences.
Your brother lit up every room I ever saw him in. He was so loved.
❤
R.I.P Dad aka the finest magician
I'm sorry for your loss.
Your father was an amazing person. Blessed to have known him.
I met your dad at the Buffalo Get Together. He was always kind and generous. He even signed Lou's book for me. My condolences to you and your family.
Doesn’t Mac King get a ten count in his palm, spreads the ten and holds out 3. Second spectator counts ten, Mac spreads the ten and adds 3. Johnny Paul used the ahead method.
This is such a different way of thinking about card magic. I really appreciate you posting this so I can see what he did as I read the book. I suspect it would take considerably more time to be able to use his methods than to master yet another pass or slight.
Close up magic is so awesome.Lennart Green is one of my favorites to watch.
With muffled audio like this try cutting 1.5 to 3 dB around 200hz and boosting 2 to 4 dB around 4000hz. None of this are precise values in the neighborhood is close enough. Around 200hz is muddiness, around 4khz is eligibility of speech.
Tom Mullica is one of my favorites of all time.
Excellent Ricky Jay is a legend This was a treat I especially enjoyed the end bit where he tells the story of Itto Ogami. I hadn't heard that one before.
I know this is kind of a 'guys club' for the most part, but I wonder... Do you ever have women who are magicians as part of the commentary?
It's less of a boys club than it used to be. One thing that CC Club does right is that we have a diverse group of men and women. We used to have a female on the panel. You looking to volunteer?
@@ConjurorCommunity Thank you for getting back to me. I think it would be awesome to be a part of this panel, but I don't really have the expertise to contribute. (Sadly) My knowledge is limited to UA-cam videos on the subject. The only book I own is on mentalism. ~Prism~ by Max Maven (whom I adored). I got it after his passing in memory of him. 🌈🖤🌈 I enjoyed reading it because some of the techniques seemed similar to those required to be a spy 🙆😆 I've seen a couple Daniel Madison videos on sleight of hand. Have yet to practice enough to really master anything myself. 🃏🎲 I've spoken briefly with some magicians online. I don't know if you know who Michael Weber is but he used to perform sometimes with Maven way back in the day. Seems to run in many magic circles. 🌟 I've spoken to him quite a bit over the internet but not as much as I'd like to and he never reveals his secrets (of course 😏) In closing, it would be an honor to participate, but I'm more of a spectator/'groupie' LOL... Magicians have groupies, right? ('Magical groupies' 😅🤣) I don't know what else it would be called... I'm thankful even for the thought 🙆 ...The suggestion Possible or not 🌠🦋🌠 ✨ It was very kind of you ✨ ...maybe one day I'll be able to contribute more to the discussion... To possibly volunteer if the offer remains open or if you decide having a spectator/groupies point of view may be fun? 😁😅 🤹🎪🎡🤸
this is so good thank you guys
Welcome!!!
His use of Goshmans And Then There Were Four is very magical!!
