You can still catch fish even in these conditions
Переглядів 2894 місяці тому
Sydney has been hit with nasty weather recently, wind and rain.... Waited for the wind to settle a bit then took out my son for another fishing challenge in our favorite safe spot for him... This is a 2 day challenge. Some nice fish were caught in both days, not expected, which proves that fish are very active in Murky waters.

A top spot no matter what the weather.🎣👍🏾
Absolutely mate, never disappointed me
Seems the cart would be a pain in the ass.
Indeed it is as the kayak is pretty heavy, and without this DIY forget about loading and unloading it.
Love the channel keep it up just asking where are you fishing
Thx mate, this is in Middle Head, Mosman
Easier to just kick the cunjie off instead of making your knife blunt and use your fingers to dig it out to get whole pieces.
True
thanks sharing. Could you please share your rig set as well next time.
It is a luderick rig which consist of the following in order, on the main line you will feed a stopper, bead, your float then another bead then tie to one end of swivel, on the other end of the swivel tie a 1.5 meter fluorocarbon leader, add splitshots according to buoyancy then tie a size 8 or 10 hook
@@Saltyall_Fishing thank you so much.
Where in salmiya is this?
Off the rock jeti by the Marine Rescue Station
Thankyou for the fishing footage
No worries mate
No. Because the weight slides away from the fish when it shakes it head. You need all the help you can get to land those big NZ snapper.
In this DIY the weight can still slides away from your fish mate, and you can adjust it. A big snapper is a big snapper, regardless of Aus or NZ
Also add a solid ring instead of the split ring.
Will def do that
I change the ring, and tie again and put new smaller hooks.
Yup, even stronger
@@Saltyall_Fishing 😊
Veritas are excellent Rods
Indeed
Im from Queensland but been to curl curl few times, is this the south or the north curl curl my bro?
This is the North side bro
You reckon that spot is better on a rising or lowering tide for luderick?
I have tried both tides, both produces some nice luds, however rising always worked best for me
Hope for your sake you caught and release, the gropper are a protected species in the harbour,
Mate, this video is from 2022, the ban was introduced in 2024... but thx anyway
love leather jackets great fish and good eating fish I catch lots in Narooma they are the best🐟
Yes they are good eating and fun to catch

www.youtube.com/@SummerNFishing
Keep it up mate
Carry your rods but forward. There's less chance of breaking them this way.
Yeah correct, Thx for the advise mate
Didnt u already upload thos vihdeo? Im surei have seen it earlyer
Nah mate, this is a new video. A have fished this spot multiple times, in the previous videos I have caught kingies, but not in this one
Where was this at
This is in Middle Head
How do you store your cabbage weed and how long does it last? Do you normally freeze cabbage weed or refrigerate them?
I always use fresh cabbage weed, before heading to my location I go and collect it, if I were to store it, dry it properly, to do that you can get the vegetable spinner which dries the water, then on newspaper or baking paper spread them then double or triple wrap it and store it in fridge in a sealed sandwich bag, make sure you replace the paper every day until dry.... this will last you a couple of weeks if done correctly. Do not freeze it.
Got a question, i can't normally gather enough weed for burleying Was wondering if you reckon this ledge or rocks of clifton is better for luderick without burley
This is the best ledge around the area I have tried without burelying hands down. Also you have the ledges to the left, only accessible during low tide or from the rocks above... you can find me fishing it in earlier videos
Yeah, Ive caught Fk All there too!
Did I say I caught anything. I don't think so... it was good experience though? Thx for passing by
@@Saltyall_Fishing I'll say it again, Ive been to that exact spot and caught nothing as well. What's the problem with what I said?
What a shit video, hahahaha
Dangerous spot mate …also a great Mullaway spot. Use those tailor live for best results
Indeed, any ocean front is dangerous. great conditions that day, otherwise won't bother and there are other spots around this ledge which can also be fished.
Nice work mate . We got into them last week at Broughton island , biggest was 6 kg
Thx mate, This is my PB on the Yak and they are around
Hey mate were was this at snapper is o my bucket list in the pa
Hey mate, this is in Bellambi, right off the reef in 9.3m depth on Bonito strips
If you intend to fish those areas , you need longer rods and longer rod holders .
Was just giving it a try on the beach before heading to the ledge which was the main destination.... thanks for the support mate
Nice work mate
Thx mate
Hello 🙋♂️ I always follow your great videos . How many miles I can go from shore in hobie pro angler 12 in good weather conditions.
Depending on the area and how much it is covered, some areas are very unpredictable and the weather can turn on you instantly. As for good conditions, it all depends on how far you can paddle, normally I let it drift and only paddle if I am moving to a certain spot or heading back to shore.... so to cut it short the PA handles great even in rough conditions, so in good condition I would say it all depends on you and not the PA.
I just love grubs. Some of the things I like about them are, they work on pretty much every species of fish, you can fish it in almost every way, lots of people don’t throw them so fish are typically not used to seeing them. And they are usually pretty dang cheap. That motor oil colour is a secret weapon up here in Canada
Agree 100%
Where is this bro?
Middle head, before knowing it is prohibited to collect from anywhere in Sydney
what kayak are you getting after this one sold ?
Best kayak hands down, there will be no other Yak as I will be leaving Aus, will definnitley buy one in Kuwait
The one place I want too fish well done
Amazing place, very big reef, variety of fish, however, you need to be very careful with the weather there
Red rockies are better eating than Snapper.
Agree 100%
I’m thinking those goggles were strapped to something down there 👇 makes you think 😮
Wonder what that is?
@@Saltyall_Fishing the lure was stuck for a while until it came loose. Some diver run out of air foraging 🫢🤭
Great fishing guys! 🔥🎣
no size limit and definitely a NSW bag limit of 20 per person , just saying so no one gets into trouble , nice catch by the way mate .
Bag limit is always there regardless, thanks for the reminder mate
Very good catch there of Jackets.. You must be very proud of your son.. Hope you have many more wonderful days like today..
Yeah, he is getting the hang of it now, soon will be taking him for a Spearfishing session as well
When was this?
Last week
Where is the biggest tarmine I only see little miniature fish
Mate read the title, biggest Tarwhine I have caught, this went 47cm buddy
No legal limit on jackets and they are good eating.
Yeah I know mate, but was not targeting them on that day
Do socks really help? With slippery rocks
I made those rod holders in the low rock platform
Awesome work, very handy
Fish for the local squid and use them at night on a high tide and you will catch big Mullaway there You will probably delete this comment like you did last time
I never delete any comments mate, on the contrary if there are any advises given I pinned them
What bait for King?
Prawns
I was using Live yakkas, but also squid strips, whole squids also work charm, Pike strips, mullet strips... practically if they are on the feed they will take anything,.but for me in this locartion, live yakkas
Be careful out there my friend! Rock fishing deaths averaging 1 per month in Australia currently. Stay safe. Have never tried socks for slip resistance but will next time ahaha
Thanks mate, I normally spend a good hour sussing out the area, checking the wind direction, swell direction, tide heights etc... before deciding on a ledge, life jacket is always on, and socks lol.... stay safe and tight lines
@@Saltyall_Fishing Good man! Tight lines!!
why are you wearing socks
Prevent you from slipping on wet rocks
am i right in saying you took the path down from the oval to get there ?
It is passed the Oval
@@Saltyall_Fishing is it that bushwalk place, i went for a little explore looking for this spot took a while
what spot is this mate?
This is Middle Head mate
