It was held on January 19 - 21. Usually its held on the Family day long weekend. It's called the Big Jig.

Whats depth do you fish the walley at?
I was at 19'. My brother was not too far from me and he was at 16'. the other hole that was getting pike was at 14'. Id say 15'-20' Sand bottom, i have always found Walleyes.
What part of the lake is this? South west side?

Yeah good job on getting the prize for longest White fish in that tournament. Ill need to watch your videos on how to catch a white fish through the ice... I have never caught a single one.. lol

Where is this channel based from? Why not keep some?
We are from Alberta. This particular lake is 0 limit on Walleye and Pike. There is a Walleye Special Harvest License you can apply for this lake, but it is on a draw. Unfortunately we were not drawn to have tags this year. Hopefully next year! But i did get drawn for Lake Newell and that will be on a future video.

Thanks so much!! We were fishing 15 Feet. The walleye fishery in Southern Alberta is getting better but in no way the same as Sask and Manitoba. Majority of the lakes in Southern Alberta is 0 Limit for Walleyes but some is now opening up to either slot size or a special harvest license tagging system which is given by a draw. We are originally from Winnipeg, i really miss the fishery there...
@@playinoutdoors I wonder if you accidentally gut hook a walleye on a 0 retention lake what do you do with it? Yeah Saskatchewan and Manitoba are the walleye heaven in Western Canada, abundance of walleye in most lakes. I'm very lucky to be in Sask, cuz there's just no population here, people leave for bigger cities giving us fishermen very little fishing pressures

Jaw jackets are killer but you definitely have to put on a stiff rod or something with more backbone when it comes to walleye. Good luck on the hard water!
Yeah you are correct. I was using the FrostBite Drench rod for the jawjacker. It is too soft. I didnt have it on video that night but, I caught a 32" Pike on that jawjacker and the line was off the Trigger so it couldnt set the hook but the rod was stuck. the Pike kept pulling the line and where the tip of the rod was secured on the jaw jacker the pressure of the pike broke the tip right off. That is the second rod that the tip broke off, i am now going to put a different rod with the jaw jacker.

Yes it is the XL bunk cots from Costco that I have. Awesome cots.
How thick was the ice?
8 inches of ice as of yesterday, as deep as 40 feet... if you go out more in the middle for 60+ feet the ice is 3-4 inches.

Yeah, they just changed it from yellow to blue cause they changed their corporate color to blue. Even the new packing box is blue and their website. I guess they didnt like yellow anymore.
