Well, I wouldn't presume to know for sure, myself. I believe that it's worth bearing in mind that culturally, the Jews held much tighter hold on their young women than anybody does today. But to the point, there's the more obvious element of innocence that it references, and he would have a pretty good idea that they were untouched as they carried themselves as such. They weren't escorted by a husband or his family, they would be accompanied by their own family. They probably dressed a certain way too. I'm no historian, and I'm definitely no expert on the Jewish tendencies and traditions.

@@ronaldgouda Also have to remember, the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible, through man. They were inspired of the Holy Ghost. So, who knows all things? God, naturally. The Bible is quite literally God's words. It's living, it's breathing and has power!
