Taylors heater service, aft cabin leak and exploring a locker Ep 11
Переглядів 122 місяці тому
I have had lots of problems trying to get my Taylors heating system working, so this video shows how to service the burner part of it. It might be useful to some. Also I find a bad leak that that wasn't mentioned in the survey, and I explore one of the lockers. Chapters 0:00 Servicing Taylors heater burner 12:52 Aft cabin 13:39 Locker

Yeah I got a bit nesty and decided to get some bits and pieces for the boat. This started out by finding some nice coat hooks, and then I got some bedding, and a throw, and plants lol Chapters 0:00 First things 01:10 Other things
Broken forestay! And an engine service Ep 4
Переглядів 1762 місяці тому
While I was at Blyth marina, where I bought the boat from, I had thefts from the boat and it was damaged three times. I don't have much video to offer but you can see the main damage that was caused when they snapped my forestay. (The yard manager simply walked away from me when I expressed my concerns that my boat wasn't being taken care of.)
Hull and keels and getting them sorted Part 1 Ep 3
Переглядів 213 місяці тому
The hull and keels were the biggest job that I faced early on. They had to be done properly as hull and keels are what keep the water out! This turned into a mammoth task and the video only shows about a half of the work.
Removing the old davits from the boat Ep 10
Переглядів 223 місяці тому
The reason I am removing them is two fold. They are very heavy and unnecessary with more modern davits being stainless steel tubing and much, much lighter and easier to use. Also marinas charge per metre. The davits add an extra metre onto the overall length of the boat, so even getting hauled out means an extra £35. Even when berthing on a pontoon, you get the exact same pontoon as you would i...
Webasto service Pt 2 of 2 Ep 9

This was about an hour and a half of video so I decided to split it into 2. This is the second one. Perhaps not that exciting to some but if you have a Webasto it might be interesting?
Servicing the Webasto part 1 of 2 Ep 8
Переглядів 213 місяці тому
An old Webasto was in the boat when I bought it and I was told it worked fine. However it was unreliable so I decide to service it. Which turned out to be an expensive and useless business!
First look, a quick tour of my new boat. Ep 1

My first look at my boat out of the water, and a quick look around inside. Can you tell I'm excited!
Treating the hull and keels Part 2 Ep 5
Переглядів 1083 місяці тому
The hull and keels were in a parlous state when I bought the boat, so a lot of work went into getting them into decent condition. I haven't recorded every single step, but I took as much video as I could. I'm getting better at video though so hopefully subsequent uploads will get better.
Making the carving and marking note for Part 1 of the SSR Ep 6
Переглядів 238 місяців тому
There are many benefits to registering Part 1 of the Small Ships Register. But one of the tasks is to make a carving and marking note with your registration number. Call it a registration plate for boats! This is a long video, but it's how I created my new carving and marking note from scratch. Just speed through if you can't be bothered to watch it all. I don't mind at all helpful suggestions ...
Second look. Ep 2

Another early look at the boat I just bought, a Westerly 33 sailboat which is out of the water, and dealing with a dirty hull.
