Elks Lodge, Boy Scouts, Augusta National, YMCA, the NFL, they used to be much better before you know who had to butt in because we were fine having fun by ourselves.
I got out of the Elks as I found it really wasn't what I thought it was, got belittled and treated horribly

Homeless folks allowed?
I would say, the membership in the Elks requires commitment. While homeless people are not prohibited as members, (as long as you are an American Citizen, believe in God of the Christian Bible, and take the Elks oath, and paying dues), a person without resources would find membership too expensive. The Elks is not an outreach like a church might be. In being a member of any club, your life goals have to fit the club's goals. The Elks does very little to support the choices homeless people make to remain homeless, except drug awareness programs to keep people from becoming homeless. The Elks don't offer members anything for free. Generally, you might go broke being an Elk if you get too involved!

I was thrilled to learn that our local Elks lodge sponsors women. I am about to do my initiation!
I am a vet & x 32° became disallousioned and quit after 6 yrs, it just wasn't a good fit. This seems more up my alley. It seems like a great benevolent organization. I really can't find any fault with this fraternity?
the fault is that they were founded upon minstrel shows and should have been white men only group that was for betterment for the white race. the original elks were for whites only. which is what it was founded upon, now thats all gone out the window, and America is a non white country. by the year 2040 now its projected this whole country will be over run with south americans from honduras, el salvador, and african americans who are all being severly under represented on the US Census. the sad part is that nothing was done to stop this decades ago, all of these old timers you see in this video just sat back in their lodges and hid away while our country became a non-white country. even tho it was founded by our great fathers who were ALL white. the founding men of the USA were all white men from colonial times. truth is that there is no way out of this. and no where to run either. every european country including ireland and england are also doomed. the number 1 baby name in ireland now is Muhammed. Yeah. The brownification of the USA and the world has come to a boiling point.

yes
Lots of black Elk leaders in upstate New York. They give with grants to many families who can't make the winter, or need genuine assistance. But since funds are limited, the Elks does not give charity. The Elks gives dignity. Though "charity" is not a bad word in itself.

The Elks lodge in my town closed for some reason.
because its a lot of older folks, theyre not recruiting any new members lately. its from a bygone age. along with masons and shriners. go to any of those places and all the people there are in their 70s and older. some even in their 90s.
