Intro to LAMP Words for Life
Переглядів 15 тис.2 роки тому
This video covers the basics of the LAMP Words for Life vocabulary from the layout, how the words are arranged by semantic relations, how to find words, to advice I have on using it with children who are new to using it. I hope this is helpful. :)
This is a great video! Thank you for creating it!
Thank you for sharing this video!!!
How did you hide all of the empty cells?
Mssdi
Thank you so much! We’ve been trying to learn the program and the way you explained everything was so helpful. You answered so many of the questions my husband and I have had, it’s like you read our mind! (Our son is 4 and just starting out with the LAMP program.)
This was very helpful! Thank you! Question- for a 4 year old, would you start with the full setting or the transition setting?
It would depend on the four year old. Each child has different needs. What I do most of the time is start with the full program. I use vocabulary builder to show a few high impact words like “go” and “sing” and model those for a few minutes in play and let the child try as well. Then, I open up the full vocabulary and see what happens and go from there.
Thanks so much!
Thanks very much for the video!!! I was so confused about the word placements and now i understand it more!
Thank you so much for putting this video together! It has been so hard to find the right resources for helping my student learn and use his LAMP device and this is exactly what I needed to make custom flashcards to help him learn. I'm so incredibly grateful for you willingness to share with us
Please make more videos! I love your content. Very helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing the interesting organizational patterns with LAMP. It helps me make sense of it.
Love the scalloped edge around. Good idea
This is incredible! I've taken several LAMP training courses but this was the best explanation I've gotten about why/how things are laid out. For example, I didn't know how the motor planning for questions works and it's ingenious. Thanks so much for putting this together!
This helped me wrap my brain around lamp. We are a touch chat user family and were working on switching to lamp as her vision loss progresses. I struggled with understanding lamp. I say using lamp its like being a droid family then switching to apple.
I'm so glad it was helpful! I don't know how quickly vision loss is happening for your loved one. LAMP WFL could be a great option. It ends up feeling like a keyboard once you're used to it, and pairing it with a touch guide can make access easier because there are guide bumps on it. Core Scanner is another vocabulary that you could look at. It's the one I usually try first for people who are legally blind. The organization is completely different, and it takes longer to say what you want, so it would only be something I would consider if you expect her vision to completely be lost eventually. It can be used via single or double switch scanning.
What a fabulous video 👏🏽 Great quick explanation about “why” things are placed were they are and “where” to find stuff. Thanks so much for sharing 💗
