I cry every time I watch this clip. Such wonderful writing and acting. This is clearly a very universal experience within our patriarchal world. My father tried to stop me from going to University so I ran away and was lucky enough to live in a country that wanted me to get an education. I have a doctorate, I've had an amazing life and taught people like me at University for over 10 years. My father was never interested in knowing me. As much as I love the idea of a father's help and support - I think that would have somehow trapped me in his limited world. I don't want to be my father's apprentice, i want to have my own world.

So eating meat actually forces the destruction of more land to factory farm feed crops. If people directly ate the grain they wouldnt have to farm as much land. Just say you like to eat meat and you dont care what others think, dont act like theres some intellectual retort to make yourself feel good

This argument makes little sense. If you eat meat you have to plough the field to feed the livestock which you then kill and eat. You actually lose energy in this process. It makes way more sense to just plant crops and eat that. Yes animals die, but less die than if you eat meat, because you have to plough less fields and kill no livestock.
