Liara's reasoning is the only way I can justify saving the Rachni under Renegade Shep logic: "There's a bigger threat approaching, the gates are buckling and the enemy is clambering over the ramparts. I need to throw everything I can at it." Paragon Shep would just blindly trust the Rachni would do good on their word. Renegade Shep would see shocktroop meat-shields at worst, untrustworthy allies at best. And if they're a Sole Survivor they wouldn't pass up any resources they could scrounge up when fighting an uphill battle. But I'm digressing, loved the mission and decision!
