Animation of the future international airport at Ilulissat, Greenland. The airport at Ilulissat is built with, among other things, a runway, two taxiways and a terminal area with an apron and building plots for terminal and service buildings. Welcome to the new Nuuk international airport! This animation provides an overview of the construction process and the planned features of the new airport. The airport will have a 2200 meter long runway to accommodate wide-body aircraft. It will connect several international cities, such as Reyjkavik, Copenhagen, London or Toronto. Jeg kunne tænke mig at det at der kun er grønlandsk og engelsk og dansk er udeladt, udtrykker noget der virker forsmået. Der er vel en professionalisme der støtter bedre op om Grønland og byder folk velkommen. Men hele verden har denne energi gennemsyret i samfundene. Også Danmark som forfalder i korruption og totalitarisme. Vi skal passe på hinanden. Og det har ikke været godt i mange år

I've been watching the work being done at Nuuk on their webcam over the last year. Quite a project! It looks like it will be a very fine airport.
2200m runway is long enough for an A330?
Yeah i agree its a bit short. It would be nice is the runway was stretched even an extra 200m to 2.4km

Well done animation. What a change. I understand a lot of Chinese workers will be coming to Greenland so the larger airport will be needed.
This looks great and it will be good for Nuuk to have an international airport of it's own. I look forward to flights from Canada!
