Use talcum powered on the stain. If the stain is old, dampen it before putting talcum powder. All this shenanigans for a stain!

The only change i would have made is to empty the crumb tray before inverting the toaster. If the crumbs are already in it, its easier to just dump it first so you don't get any of the crumbs stuck in the heating elements. 😊
