I Rented an NSX and Drove the Touge Roads in Japan
On the next leg of my journey through Japan, my wife and I head south again towards the Hakone area. I rented an NSX with the company Fun2Drive and toured a whole day in the car on their Ultimate Hakone drive. It was a 4.5 - 5 hour drive throughout the touge roads and surrounding villages including an extra 3 hot laps on the Fuji Speedway.
It was an incredible experience and hopefully I was able to capture enough magic of the day even though I was restricted with filming. If any one from Fun2Drive finds my content in poor taste please reach out to my business email and I will adjust it.

Detailing My Friends Tired Old Supra Paint
How big is the air compressor you are using to power that tool @Alex Kaspi ?
Incredible!
Thanks homie
Awesome that you got to drive an amazing car, alongside those other legendary cars! It's too bad that the pace care neutered your drive on track, but I get they got to keep the cars safe so more people get to enjoy them in the future. I particularly LOVE renting cars on TURO here in the states, and I also have done a few Track style rentals where you get a few laps in unique enthusiast cars. It's fun just being inside them and feeling what it's like under normal circumstances.
The other option is renting from Omoshiro Rent A Car. They have similar JDM sports car rentals and are actually pretty affordable. If the fun2drive thing did not work out I would have gone that route probably.
My friend has a 2020 RDX FWD. It has 46K miles. Should she start to think about a transmission fluid exchange and filter changed? Ever do that on yours? And if so do you have a video on you doing it? Thanks.
Typically at the dealership I worked at we would follow the Acura maintenance schedule and change transmission fluid around the 30k mile service. For the maintenance minder system this is the number 3. It most likely popped up but was reset. I have not done it yet on my car I am only around 16k miles.
I rarely get my stuff on time from Amazon- ESPECIALLY if I’m waiting for it. Gunna do my fluid flush in spring… got a type s… gunna check out those brembros then too. Thanks for the video
Oooo a type S! I wanttt

Sweet. I hired an RX8 in November and hit some sweet mountain passes towards Fukushima. Still buzzing
Sweet, omoren rental?
@alexkaspi Omoshiro, they have a few offices around the country.
Yoooo I was the driver in the red evo 6.5. Looks like you had a blast
Yessss I was hoping someone from the day would see this vid. We had a hell of a day man, glad we got to share.
How is the Evo? I’m considering renting it on Thursday!
@@F82Mitch real fun, gear box is nice and responsive on the twisty roads. Ok ish power but super nimble
I’m heading to Hakone in February and I might just have to convince my partner to do this with me 🔥 Mind if I ask what ryokan you stayed at? We’re looking for recommendations!
Definitely! A must do, but they might already be booked up in Feb. They open up their dates 3 months in advance so I would check for availability ASAP. I tried to book the R34 after my date opened up and after 15 min it was already gone. Otherwise the other option is Omoshiro Rent a car if you want to rent a JDM sports car. The ryokan we stayed at was Gen Hakone Gora.
i also booked fun2drive in hakone, was fortunate enough to drive the r34. What an amazing experience to drive on the touge.
Nice! Yeah I guess the transmission blew up just a couple days before our booking.
Awesome! Sub'd!
Appreciate it, brotha! 😎
what’s up man! stumbled upon your channel while trying to find videos on the yashio factory exhaust and i know that you’ll be getting your s15 in around february and im stoked to hear it on the car! my s15 will be here around the same time as yours since mine is also a 2000 model and im looking to get the same exhaust
Hell yeah! Thanks for checking out my vids. Once I get the car I’ll be definitely making a video about the exhaust, before/after. I went with Max Cobra down pipe and just need to figure out the cat/test pipe situation. Might just do a resonator, not sure yet. What color is yours and is it a spec R?
@@alexkaspiyes! i was able to get a spec r with 98k km with a spec b interior, one owner! It’s actually crazy to me that you have the same exact idea as me!! I was also thinking the same downpipe from partsshopmax and also thinking about a test pipe because i’d like the exhaust to be a tad bit louder but keep the same tone from the yashio. my name is alex too and im honestly just amazed we have the same vision and have nearly the same model car!
Haha nice! What are the odds. Well if you have an instagram add me up, would love to follow your build progress! @alex.kaspi
good vibes good couple good video :)
Thank you 🙌

How is turbo on these engines? Can it survive to 200k miles?
That's cool way of flushing the brake system..my mechanic still do the 2 person system
Still works great!
Get the lift, brother. It’ll change your life, and let you park another car in there!
Im planning on it for sure 👍
BEST VIDEO I HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME!! Very well done and easy to follow... i not sure if u are still working on cars at a dealership. But i would bring my vehicle to u!! Thanks for an amazing informative video on uptube!!🎉🎉🎉
Such a great video I dropped my phone in excitement and broke it hahahaha
Wait seriously? Haha omg
@alexkaspi lol indeed... Time to get a better camera on my phone 🤳
Brahhh 😂
What a great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi great video, I would assume you are using required Honda brake fluid. I am contemplating buying an RDX but am leaning towards the Advance model because of the use of the low profile tires on the Aspect model.
I was not using factory fluid but just Prestone or whatever I picked up from Autozone that's good to use in Hondas/Acuras. I used to have unlimited access to such things but that was a lifetime ago! haha. I love the advance model, the one feature I wish I had on this car was the heads-up display. Maybe I'll upgrade in the future! GL with your search.
Welcome to the club
I’m looking at getting a gen 3 RDX, probably the advance package. Are there any particular issues that I should be aware of prior to buying the car, anything this car is particularly known for? Also anything I should be aware of while inspecting and test driving it? Thanks!!!
Well people have reported transmission issues, Acura has acknowledged these things, so I would test drive and verify it shifts smooth. I do notice sometimes the revs will hang longer than I’d like but overall I just drive it in sport mode and it shifts fine for me. Otherwise personally I noticed a brake squeal from the front brakes when the vehicle is cold. This typically will go away after 1min or so if normal driving. Acura had a service bulletin for this: Bulletin Number: B19-053
@@alexkaspi I just brought home a used (6500 mile) 2024 RDX Advance. I've been driving it in comfort mode because the transmission seems fairly aggressive with the shifts. To be honest, I don't know what it *SHOULD* be like to be worried. Can you describe what it would feel like if there is a problem?
Japan is definitely a beautiful place , & that s15 is gorgeous man !!
Agreed, was an incredible experience! Thanks and I can’t wait to receive that car early next year! 😬😬😬
Oh my gahd, tuner heaven 🤤
Bro you would’ve lovedddd itttt
The awesome thing about A Pit is that you can get there via public transit too. Unlike most car places which are in the middle of no where, this one is right on Odaiba island in the Tokyo bay and next to a train station. They also have a ton of non car stuff for your significant other if they aren't into car stuff. ;)
Right! Like Starbucks apparently for my wife… hahah
The video I've been waiting for! Adding this stop to my list for my next trip!
Thanks man! A must visit on the next migration over there… 🤣
The views from that hotel were insane!
I never wanted to leave.. 🤣
I'm team Sarah on taking a taxi! lol my feet hurt like crazy after a few days in Tokyo!
I wasn’t complaining, my dogs were barkin!
There's a bar called LOST in Shibuya area.. Owned by Chris Abroad from "Abroad in Japan" youtube, maybe u can visit it sometimes 🎉
We literally went to the bar in this video. 🙃🤣
Awesome video! I didn't get to experience my S15 in Japan but I did the next best thing - I rented a S15 and drove it in Japan! Now I'm in the process of working on my S15 in the US now that it's arrived.
Awesome! I also considered this but decided to go the fun2drive route for a day. Super memorable experience no regrets. I'll sub to watch your build!!
Just recently took a visit to Tokyo but we only had a 13hr layover on a Thursday night. Glad you got to experience teamLabs and many of the things we didn't get to experience! Surprised you didn't do the Mario Kart around the city 😅
Yahhhhh I did the NSX around the TOUGE instead 🤣🤣
@@alexkaspi thats whats up
Hello. I have the same rdx and the front camera is fogged up. I have a replace camera but can’t figure out how to remove the front emblem without braking it. Do you have any tips? Thanks.
Hey sorry for the late reply. Are you sure the camera is behind the emblem? I did some searching and it seems like the radar unit is behind the emblem and then camera is behind the windshield under plastic around the rear view mirror. Check this out: ua-cam.com/video/BdynuG2qIFg/v-deo.html
@@alexkaspi Hello thanks for the reply. It's the parking camera under the bumper badge that I am replacing.
Great video and great car! I'm also in Chicago and saw a guy driving a Skyline a few weeks ago out in Naperville. I'll keep my eye out for your Silvia!
Thanks! Yeah definitely! Can’t wait to have an excuse to goto all the car shows 😂

Where’s the car?
It's here in Japan.
Great video
Thanks!
Yayyy
Love it! Such a great vid 😍
For whatever reason, a lot of Acuras specify flushing the brake fluid in a counterintuitive order. For the 3G RDX, the service manual says the order is FL, FR, RR, RF. You don’t actually start with the brakes farthest from the reservoir.
Interesting thanks for sharing, I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on an official Sevice manual eventually.
Yeah, I thought it was strange too the first time I read it. If you google it, this is also the order for the last gen RDX, MDX, TLX, and some others. And it’s not just some guy online. There are pictures from the factory service manual showing this. I do as the FSM says, but I actually don’t know the logic here. It makes more sense to start with the corner that’s the farthest from the master cylinder.
Hey great video! I own a 2019 RDX and I’m happy to see that other people agree with me that it’s such a fun car to drive!
Couldn't agree more!
not me in the first clip lmfao
hahaha hell of a moment.
Great video! Nice to see FB from a normal spectator’s perspective!
Thanks!
Just mustang things 😂
