    Regarding prolonged fasting for spiritual reasons, should there be a ritual or prayer involved to sort of “announce” that’s it being done for Spirit? I fast often for health & mental health reasons.

    • @asanee44
      @asanee44 5 днів тому

      Personally, I often officially proclaim my fasts to my Ori. I simply speak to my Higher Self and state that I am embarking on a fast. Also, I indicate the length of the fast and my intended purpose. Additionally, I ask for help with staying on course, especially if I know it will be difficult. I also keep a fasting journal where I record my efforts. I don't always proclaim shorter, 24-hour, weekly fasts, though, b/c this is my norm. Usually, these are my 'maintenance' fasting periods that are basically for cleansing.

    I know for a fact that I have been chosen to usher in a new age, but I love that you expanded on the importance of not to view ourselves not through the lens of an annoited one or a perfect being, but what we can do for those still shrouded in darkness... that is very reflective of the way I and many others strive to be.

    I'm White Scottish..... I'm a child of my distant ancestors who colonised Africa. .. it's a little known true fact that the biggest colonisers of all were the Central and North African tribes who moved down into South Africa killing hundreds of thousands of Africans on their way down to the south ... . Another ignored true fact is that many White Europeans were colonized by other Europeans eg British people were colonised by Vikings and Germans. ..... Various European countries citizens where taken by black African slave owners who raided Europe and took White slaves back to Africa that fact is commonly ignored.... It was Black Africans who captured other Black Africans in sold them to brown skin Arabs and slaves. The biggest African slave owners were other Black Africans who captured other Blacks ... It is estimated Black Africans took approximately 1 million European White slaves back to Africa... It was White English people who stopped the slave trade.. Today in many African countries rich Africans exploit poor Africans ... It is common that rich Africans will employ poor Africans as servants. For centuries the taller more powerful Africans have exploited the smaller and weaker African tribes for example the Koi and the San have been used as slaves by other Africans who are bigger and stronger than them and this has been happening for centuries.. Black colonisation is endemic within Africa.

    Thanks for this. Just to add that ileke means beads. Also, ileke are jewelleries the same way necklaces are and can be worn casually or consecrated for religious proposes ❤

    • @asanee44
      @asanee44 29 днів тому

      @@afrobeatlyrica Yes, you’re correct in that ileke mean beads in Yoruba. It’s basically double speak when you say ileke beads. However, I use it because that’s what many non-Yoruba people are used to. They can definitely be worn in either instance. And I am aware that people can buy them without consecrating them. They can even do that in the U.S. But again, the common use, from a traditional perspective, is the focus of the video. Thanks for your feedback and for watching.

    • @afrobeatlyrica
      @afrobeatlyrica 27 днів тому

      @@asanee44 I am glad you didn’t take my comment the wrong way cuz it’s often hard to set one’s tone when commenting online. However, (speaking as a Yoruba who was born and raised in a traditional Yoruba city in Nigeria and used to make beads) the common use of ileke is not for consecrated purpose - people wear it to adorn themselves - whether it’s on their waist, ankle, hand, neck, etc. Don’t forget that not every Yoruba person practices Isese and even when they did, majority of beads weren’t consecrated. You could even inherit beads from your grandma. The reason I’m saying all of this is for diasporans practicing Isese not to see a Yoruba person wearing ileke and immediately think it’s consecrated and that the person practice Isese. That would make for an unnecessary confrontational and defensive conversation as a lot of Yorubas still think their traditional religion is evil and witchcraft.

    • @asanee44
      @asanee44 27 днів тому

      @@afrobeatlyrica For sure. Yes, I could see you weren’t ill-intentioned with your comment. Though sadly, some people are at times. Either way, I welcome different perspectives. Also, I am aware that many Yoruba people living in and outside of Nigeria aren’t Ifa practitioners. And they definitely get offended if you assume they are. Although I practice Ifa, I lived in West Africa (Liberia) before doing so. As such, I am very well aware of what many African people think about their own traditional practices. Most of them don’t desire to be associated with it as they consider it evil. However, I also know that many throughout the diaspora don’t understand this sentiment. They often assume that every African person is into tradition, which is far from reality. So, thanks for the many good points you made. People should definitely be aware of these nuisances.

Today I am sorry to say, I have very little trust for many that claim to be custodians so I get support here and there but mainly through my Ori, egbe, ancestors and my Orisa.
