@@outlawfrank88Thanks. Please take that which follows and use as you think fit. First, I am not an rdr2 content creator. Secondly, I take no credit for my Chapter 1 Free Roam approach. I am only building on that which others have done re leaving Cotler to go to Valentine and beyond, and I am making use of a simple glitch (I learned from a content creator) to facilitate this approach. My approach is more far reaching vis a vis getting around the map and is also done with much more ease. Before I give the details of the Ch 1 Free Roam, let me make some recommendations: 1. Once in Valentine, Max out Arthur’s honor by antagonizing sheriff and deputies and getting arrested. This will take about 35 mins. 2. Check out the Doctor’s side gig. Rob the doctor but not the basement operation. Leave immediately after robbing the doctor and get Arthur arrested. After release rob the doctor again and get arrested again. Rinse and repeat until Arthur amasses about $500 (or whatever amount you desire. Should take another 30 mins). 3. Next, Steal the small horse drawn cart in Valentine. It is the preferred method of getting around for a few key reasons. It is usually near the stable, near the Stagecoach/train station, or parked next to the gunsmith store. 4. Now this is important. Drive the cart (use the eastbound railway) to the shack located northwest of Emerald Station. The shack is the southern apex of a triangle formed using the O and V of Hanover. 5. Enter the shack and sleep until noon. There should now be far greater visibility to roam around and more. Standby for the details on how to actually make the CH 1 roaming possible.

Here are the details. Please note my recommendations above. Use the info shared as you see fit, brother. Blessings: Free Roaming in Chapter 1: Easy method (xbox one: no cheat, no mods, but using a simple glitch most players are familiar with) of getting Arthur out of the Cotler camp environment. In fact, it can get him to explore the entire map and give you a massive head start in Chapter 2. The only limitation is as follows: Herbs cannot be picked Animals and birds cannot be skinned Camp setup/hotel sleep unavailable [but can sleep in some shacks and some npc’s tents] Arms cannot be bought from gsmith, only amo. Customization available for lancaster, pump action/semi auto, double action, double barrel when you find them Stagecoach and Railway travel unavailable [steal small horse cart to move around] Stranger encounters unavailable [but lumber guy, railway guy, and house builder guy available] Horses cannot be ridden [there’s a way to max Arthur’s horse stats in Valentine] Hats cannot be gotten. Aside from the preceding, pretty much everything else available - gold bars, pamphlets, documents, dinosaur bones, rock carvings, places of interest, dream catchers, gangs hideouts, increase honor, a few challenges in some challenge sets, etc. 2] Details Be sure to do the “Old Friends” mission before Charles’s deer hunting mission. In the “Old Friends” mission do not return to camp after capturing Kiran. Instead, ride to the Mount Hagen shacks (the last shack with the ladder leading to the look out) to pick up the Valerian root and Aged Pirate Rum and Cairns lake shack to get the ginseng exilir. After you get them then return with kiran back to camp. Save the game. Reload the game and use the free time to max your health, stamina, and deadeye levels by using the item glitch (search Ytube: regina_phalange rdr2-the item glitch). Once your levels are maxed you can free roam the entire map before doing the Who the Hell is Levictus Cornwall mission. The best way to get around is to find a small wagon as soon as you can to help you get around. It is more convenient and you can dismount from it to replenish levels and get on it again. And pretty much most things can be done in this Ch. 1 free roam - Can’t sleep in hotels only in shacks with sleep available [sleeping is possible only at some shacks and at some enemy gang camps or npc camps. Note: time starts at 6 AM and visibility poor when start from Cotler. Time then stops at 9 AM. When you sleep in shacks or npc tents the best wake up time is noon or evening. Visibility is clearer and time is always stopped at 12 noon or 6 PM. Any other wake up time will set the game clock in motion to until 9 AM. - Only Am-mo can be purchased from G-smith but found lancaster, pump action, sem eye auto, and double action, including arthurs carbine and cattleman can be customized. -Train travel and stagecoach travel unavailable [best way to travel after arriving at Valentine is to steal a small horse cart] - Levels reduce at normal rate when engaging enemies - Outfits, trinkets in lock boxes, gold bars, pamphlets, vampire clues, dinosaur bones, rock carvings, dream catchers, points of interest, documents, some maps, are available. - Pamphlets can be found but cannot be used - Max level horse bonding can be achieved by feeding horse classic oats at Valentine. But this can only be done after release from jail following arrest. Getting arrested is a good way also to increase honor quickly and also to replenish vital levels. - hats, herbs, temporary horse, and camp fire are unavailable - some challenges can be completed (5 bandit, 8 explorer, 2 sharp shoe ter, 3 wey pons expert) - valentine doc side hustle available, but I suggest you take from doc’s cash register first, then ask him about back room but don’t go in. Leave the office and antagonize the sherrif to get arrested. When you leave the jail, you can immediately rinse and repeat with the doc to increase your funds. - strawberry grocer side hustle also and Rhodes gunsmith imprisoned son available - also available are 1] helping the house builder near valentine, 2] The railway line builder, 3] Helping the Appleseed timber company foreman. I would hold off on #3 until ch.2 if getting the hat and letter from one of the lumberjacks is important to you. Going to Blackwater will spawn pinkertons, but you can roam New Austin and note dinosaur bones. Will need lots of tonics. Sniper still active. Just discover the possibilities as you go along….You can cover the entire map doing this. It is a lot of fun.

The intent is to use the item glitch without the item being gone from the item wheel 😊

Also with this one you don't need the legendary satchel (it helps with some of the loot in there obv, but for the cash and bullets you wont need it)
