Malden Islands War 1985 - Every Day (Operation Flashpoint: CWC/Arma: CWA) [UPDATED VERSION]
Took me a while...
This version is a bit faster than the old one(almost 2x) but I preferred that over what I felt was unnecessarily long, lasting 3 minutes for a war of 68 days.
I added some things I missed - a particular bit is only mentioned once over the radio during a mission, or another one is mentioned in a diary entry before the mission starts.
Also I decided that I'd rather have the video a bit stretched than have the black bars on the sides.
I extended the war by a day as to include the events of the last mission of the Red Hammer campaign(the date in the loading screen says it takes place a day before the last mission of the regular campaign but it's made very clear that it takes place after). Speaking of Red Hammer, some missions were ignored altogether because I was mainly following the US campaign and only using the Soviet one to fill in the blanks. It generally had a lot of inconsistencies(because it's made by a different developer) so missions like Tank Rescue, Picking Up the Pieces, Alamo and a few others couldn't be implemented to work properly with the rest.
Note that it's impossible to do this 100% accurately. There is plenty of info missing and a lot of this is just making assumptions as to what would happen. I used the editor a lot to check the missions and often if there was even a single soldier in an area during a mission I would mark that area as controlled by that side.
The maps are custom made by me and I can supply you with a link if needed.
Music:
1. Dark Side
2. Decisions
3. Suppression
All from the game's soundtrack.
Sahrani War here we come(it literally lasts 6 days what the hell. also does anyone know in which year it takes place)

Due to how the game portrays the conflict(16 missions for ~30 days of conflict), some days are pure guesswork. I do feel that this is as accurate as it can be, given the information available and the nature of guerilla warfare. Music: 1. Resistance Track 01b 2. Resistance Track 04 3. Resistance Track 03 All from the game's soundtrack.

This is amazing.
4: oh no, 1 is down 2: 2, taking command 2: 7 engage soldier 2: 5 engage soldier 7: engaging 5: negative 2: 5 engage UAZ
Im currantly playing this. On arma 3. It has all the mods for free. Every campaign. And the game goes exactly like this. Perfectly done video. Thank you
0:17 that tiny blue cell is literally you escaping Montignac and being ambushed in Provins
I still can't figure out what happened, NATO were doing alright on Everon, why did they suddenly evacuate?
@@zhelyazkopetkov8211 they were heavily outnumbered, and didn't expect a full soviet army would be invading
hoping arma 4 rebuild the entire malden islands chain in one giant map i get OFP2 vibes from arma reforger
Really neat that the story was written well enough that you could actually track the land taken by opposing sides and make generalized frontlines. Probably beneficial when the entire island is a front.
Good video.
EAZY GG
0:16 You even pay attention to details like american pocket attacked from the sea near Meaux <3
5 years ago and it's still a masterpiece 💯👌
Guba isn't very good at winning wars is he?
NYET!!!
Guba always taking Ls
this goes hard
If we could get this on the Reforger engine, that would be heaven!
Let us remember the fallen.
everon and malden is supposed to be flip upward considering return of everon mission and later air superiority mission to drive away Guba forces retreat to kolgujev. anyway good job potray the 1985 campaign
Awesome recommendation after 3 years, with perfect timing to current events.

You forgot the northern part of Malden. He was also in Soviet hands. Dimitri Lukin said in the Red Hammer campaign that the airport belonged to the Soviets until the Americans came and took it (I also wrote this sentence in your other video)
Aware of that. However, it goes against what we learn from the USA campaign, which was the main source of information I used. Red Hammer is not considered canon by Bohemia Interactive but I still decided to use it to fill in gaps as long as it doesn't contradict anything from the USA campaign. The thing you mentioned does contradict the USA campaign in that the Soviets never actually conquer more than around 60% of the island, while *Red Hammer implies total Soviet control of Malden at one point* which seems absurd even in that campaign, let alone when combined with the USA one.

During "Montignac must fall", airport in the North was marked as NATO territory
Don’t think so I just think they don’t mark literally all of the enemy territory otherwise during missions like the stealth ones you’d probably see the entire island in red
@@asid5067 there is a huge green flag on airport
@@yyyrr-dv7yb I think it might be just a default model on the island
Yes, in this mission Black squad says: "DF25 is under heavy fire from the sea". DF25 is territory in northern Everon, there is Meaux village near the airport.
That's correct, and I regret not noticing it during production. I still have all of the original pics for this video which means it's very much possible to make another updated version but I've never quite gotten around to it and it feels redundant to make a third video on the topic for a single mistake (and a relatively small one, given how obscure the details for it are). Funny thing is that I noticed the radio message from soldiers at DF25 during the mission where they say they're under attack from the sea but never once thought about checking if the whole northern area is under NATO control. You can see at 0:14 a small NATO attack in the north (meant to be those soldiers on the radio) which is promptly eliminated by the Soviets.
1:01 - 1:04 David Armstrong's real first big mission.
Hell no, real first? Wtf
@@paulino58Yeah as a squad leader. My personal favourite, epic mission.
His first big one was Pathfinder, destroying 2 Shilkas and taking Chapoi
soviets: nah we win nato: hold my beer
2:37 Move the video suggestion aside ffs, it blocks the view on the chronology and the troops development
I mean it literally links to the better version (imo) but sure I moved it to the side.
@@Person-gg5wk cool
@@averyplaysguitar Great game. I've recenetly completed and uploaded PMC FURY, campaign that I had failed to complete some 20 years ago:)
👍👍👍👍👍👍
i love calling colonel guba as colonel gumba
Ngova was a ally to soviet but the soviet betrayed them
Almost! Kolgojev is Soviet Territory and only a small portion was captured momentory to withdraw Guba before "Moscow gets involved"
That is because I included Red Hammer's ending where it is shown that the Soviets are pushed to the very edge of Kolgujev and are in the process of pulling out entirely before their final base is attacked and destroyed.
Good job
can we get one for ARMA 3?
Person 1, can i get your email adress, i want to offer you some case connected with translation of this video. Email or istagram , etc for talk

Was the EFA base lost at last?
arma 1 or arma 2 next?
when u realize the whole war lasted just 2 months
Thats modern warfare for you. The second US invasion of Iraq lasted a little bit over a month.
NOGOVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
What are the real life names of these places ?
Everon: Krk (Croatia) Malden: Lefkada (Greece) Kolgujev: Tenerife (Spain)
whooa i really like this, fascinating work here man!
Hey BTW what version of the game is ur favorite
pls do east wind
I don't have arma 3
@@Person-gg5wk you can watch arma 3 campaign videos though
And collect the whole story then animate it
you're my hero now
Watch the updated version if you haven't :)
Always found it interesting that an island of a population of probably no more than 10,000 or maybe even 5,000, was able to field large numbers of resistance and hold territory without being virtually annihilated.
Because overall forces you facing and forces that under your's command is not that big. At the end of Resistance campaign I killed in summary around 350 enemies after all missions, plus my squad - around 200. So this is not like "An entire Soviet Army invasion". At the moment of the campaign, Guba was a colonel. It means that there was around 2500 soldiers under his command, excluding independent air and armor brigades.
@@dimazaharov8565 Where did you get this information from comrade? I tried looking it up to see how many a Russian Colonel would lead but I cannot find anything.
@@hitmanboss711 1) Russian version of Wikipedia. 2) My father and my mother was colonels, when they served in the Russian Army.
@@dimazaharov8565 Wonderful! I thank them for their service to the mother land. I forget how to say goodbye in Russian so I shall say hello! Privyet!
Now we're sort of seeing it played out in real life, different proportions of course.
00:58 When you escorted the convoy and prepare to Everon landing :D
I felt so smart at the time for catching and including that Soviet capture of the town Larche in the mission haha
Wow, great job!
Can you make a Arma 3 version ? (Stratis, Altis, Tanoa, Malden)
don't have arma 3 and my PC can't support it.
Where's Nogova? 0/10
Another video
Oooh boy, i think its time to play all of the 3 games trough again :D
it seems that they are not against guba s I see, or maybe u meant the NATO forces or the Resistance nation army against guba.
Boi its like a music theme making guba an badass general
Please make other videos with the rest of arma series.
how did you do this? it's really cool
Paint . net and frankly too much time spent playing this game.
