Hi, I have a question about the usage model for a sequence of 4 consecutive days in each camp without interruption. If I booked, for example, 4+4+4+4 days in 4 different camps, but in practice, I arrived a day late to the second camp, and I had to leave the third camp a day before the end (and I slept a night at Walmart before the fourth camp), does this comply with the 4-day sequence rule?
You will need to arrive on the day of check-in, but most parks are okay if you have to leave early. You can always book less than 4 days and not need to take the week out. For example, you can book 3-4-4-3 and still be fine.
Thieves will steal easily the Backup Camera- AMTIFO Magnetic Mount
Yes- can happen. I wouldn’t leave it attached when not traveling.
There have been a bunch of updates in the last 2 years.
No the problem is that the trailers wheels are in the wrong place, they should be at the rear like semi trailers, all rv trailers are dangerous

Hi there, i just looked into Thousand Trails and then I'm sure like alot of people went looking to understand. This is hands down the best video I have found. I also am in the Northeast and am kinda bummed there isn't alot more camp areas, but I will hopefully still get to enjoy and get out of my comfort zone. Thank you
Thanks so much for watching asked I'm glad it was helpful. I'm also in the northeast. There are some great hidden gems to camp in here, especially with trails collection. Have a great season!!!
How has this repair held up for you ?
Going on about 3 months and seems stronger than new. That material is like a metal weld!
The common denominator in all of these: Stupidity and the death of common sense. I look at these with both horror and amazement. A colleague of my dad's was a small plane pilot. "If you even have to ask 'should I be flying today?' should be enough to emphatically tell you NOT to be flying." The only--and only one--reason that an RV would be in some of the high-risk scenarios as shown would be if pulling off the road would be impossible. Assessment and avoidance. Getting caught in a storm is NOT an excuse when weather predictions have a fair degree of accuracy as well as regular reports of road conditions. The other? Inadequate training in rig management. Thus far, however, there seems to be no refresher courses in the regaining of common sense.
I have to laugh - 1 person claims the locations suck and another the locations are all full! Someone must like the locations? !
Fridge handle is fixed, but there is not enough flex in the door panel. Cracked in half. Anybody know where to buy a new one?
Yeah, mine has a glass mirror panel, and about an entire tube of silicone holding it in place. I freed up the silicone first on one end with a bread knife, not knowing what I was doing, then I slipped a small piece of cardboard to protect, and was able to bend the glass and free it from the silicone by slipping a three foot fiberglass driveway reflector down the center. Thank God it didn’t break!!! I stripped the door of the silicone, fixed the little part, put the door back together, installed the doors, and put the new handle on. What a friggen pain in the butt!
Wow! That sound like quite the ordeal, but glad you got it repaired. So many headaches for such a small piece of plastic.
I’m having trouble my latches are way too tight and the reason we broke the handle on first trip…any way to take the force out of opening the door?
what about full time Living RVs?
Can you buy a replacement tab at the top? Mine has disappeared. I got the new handle on thanks to your instructions, but the tab is not there for the top of the handle to grab onto
Do you mean the small catch on the refrigerator itself or the piece for the handle to screw into?
What if you put to cabin pass in one spouse name and the regular trail pass in the other spouse name? Could you get around the day limits?
I’ve asked this question, and apparently it’s in violation of Thousand Trails rules. Will the know, not sure? I really think they need to change the policy to allow both passes to be used back to back. It’s a lot of money and a big restriction.
@@OutdoorMilesMedia thank you!
Thanks bud. I'll call. Curious how many take dogs. Wonder why they aren't in north west like Montana and Wisconsin
Over speeding, not having weight distr hitch, not adequate tow truck, not enough distance in front, overweight.
Really helpful! Thank you!😊
Can you go 14 days to one TT, then 14 days to a Trails collection park, then 14 days to a TT park repeatedly?
No- you need to take a week off between each of this stays. Also remember, no matter how long you stay at a collections campground- 1 day or 14 days, you always have to take a week off afterwards. While you can go 4 days to 4days between TT parks, you can’t do that with the trails collection. After each stay, you’ll need a week off.
This it is not gonna work for me because I am full time living RV
Kewl story. Me and my boifriend got it done in a jiffy! Thanks!
Hi, my wife was going to purchase an annual camping pass, and I was going to purchase a separate one, so we wouldn't have to wait 7 days. We called Thousand Trails and discussed this. They said if we got caught doing that, both memberships would be canceled, even though there's apparently no official rule governing that. Are you aware of this?
Yes- I’ve heard this before with the camping pass. I never heard of someone trying to do it with the cabin pass, but my assumption was that they wouldn’t allow it this way either. Personally, I think it’s a dumb rule for the way you want to do it. Thousand Trails should allow both to be used independently, especially with the high price tag of the cabin pass. Best of luck and hopefully they will reconsider the rules in the future.
There's 82 camp grounds currently in thousands trails. Plus the trails collection
What?? Get out. I’ve met Milt Koult. I used to work for Horizon. I had no idea.
Very cool! What a neat connection.
Very informative, thank you! Do you have any information about how the availability is for the cabin rentals?
I’ve hear mixed reports across the country. Some hot spot areas like California and in the Northeast have been filling up faster than others. However, most people report that if you book as early as possible, you will find a rental. When planning your trip, always try to have a backup location in mind and try not to wait until the last minute to book.
Thank you! I have been thinking about purchasing. I live in California and have done some research on these cabins and there are four locations within a two hour radius of me with lots of things to plus the many more.
Step 1: Learn how to drive. Step 2: Don't buy shit if you can't follow step 1. Step 3: Pay attention and put your electronic devices away.
what i learned with a lot of accidents i’ve seen is how poorly they’re made. there’s no stereo casing. it’s only a thin piece of fiberglass and thin pieces of wood. it’s wild that rvs are so expensive despite how poorly they’re built!
Well done. You answered all the questions I had.
Thank you perfect
Great job explaining. Thank you.
Speed and stupidity don’t mix
Thanks! Very helpful and your instructions were perfect.
When I pull my wolf pup trailer I never go over 55 mph.
This is WAAAAAY to simplified. Good luck getting reservations at any of these places. We may be lucky to even find one location this summer. (Southeast Region)
Thanks for the video. This system is far superior than anything that is sold as "RV approved". I am a 40yr commercial electrician with just a couple of observations: 1) self regulated heat trace cable does not have a thermostat, the cable is constructed using a semi-conductor matrix around the heating cables. The cable starts conducting at about the low 40"s to high 30deg and continues to increase until 32deg when it is at full operating temp (self-regulating) 2) wrapping the cable over itself is not a problem. The cable will adjust the temp according to is rating. 3) tape the cable to the hose parallel to the length without circling the hose. This will decrease the diameter of the assembly so that your insulation will fit better and allow for easier reuse of the cable when replacing the hose. I personally use Flexillia brand hose. It is flexible and does not impart any "hose" taste. I have had multiple CAMCO leaks and bursts. 4) Finally, I use Scotch brand 88 electrical tape in a spiral installation around the insulation. This tape will remain flexible down to 20deg below and will not degrade as fast in the sun.
Clear and concise tutorial. I especially liked you explained how the handle works at the beginning. Nice work.
We really need to stop these elderly people driving big RV's on the interstate with just a regular Class C drivers License. They are getting people killed.

Too big and/or driving too fast, too heavy by idiots
Looking at accidents and examining their causes is an excellent idea. We do this in aviation: we examine accidents, understand their causes and - hopefully - learn from them & avoid getting into these situations ourselves.
Yes so true
You did a good job
Great video. One thing I've heard that I am curious about is when you make a reservation you aren't reserving a specific site. You basically show up to the campground, find an open site and then register for that site. Is that how it works and does the Thousand Trails campgrounds also work that way?
Thanks! For the most part, it’s usually first come first served. However, some parks may pre assign a site, but that has been less common for me. Now, many campgrounds will try to get you scheduled for the electric hookup you need, if they have options.
Great video
