In 1952, Chet Allen starred in the first ever opera written for television, Amahl and the Night Visitors. He rose to fame in his pre-teen years, but as his voice changed, he was slowly forgotten. He was admitted into psychiatric hospitals several times, and in 1984 at the age of 45 he killed himself by taking five times the dosage of a prescription anti-depressant. Rest in peace, Chet ❤️
