Im new to golf and ive noticed now after seeing this video that im gripping the club way to tight and trying to throw my arms to the golf ball i dont come over the top but i think this video has made me realise you dont have to grip the club really tight and fire the club at the ball, next time i go out im going to try and let the club fall to the ball see if it helps me out
You end by asking if it’s hurting or helping. I tuned in to find out from you because I got some heeled footjoy premiers and my swing went to purgatory !! I guess I’ll just take away the fact that it has an effect and dump the shoes hate the feeling I have after starting to wear them. Awful. Should be a warning on the shoe box !😊
I know this is an old video but this is exactly how I swing and 98% of the time it works, when it doesn’t is when I start pulling GREAT TIP!!
Hey Bryan, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
Great explanation!
Love this Bryan. Would love to get an online lesson from You
For anyone trying this you have to have a grip that is somewhat loose. Your death grip will make this impossible
People are trying to muscle the ball out vs swing the club into the ball.
One recommendation for the video….show a full swing at full speed after you communicate whatever it is that you are communicating. This is a common critique of mine watching numerous golf videos.
Hello Bryan, I love your style and ability to break down the swing in such a digestable manner. I had a question regarding one of your previous videos you posted 2 years ago. You mentioned the teachings of Mike Adams, Terry Rowles and EA Tishler. Im very familiar with their methodologies. Do you still subscribe to their teachings as far as the grip and its correlation to what the elbows/ speed of the hips? Or do you recommend most golfers stick to more of a neutral/ side-on to side-cover set up, as you see here? Thanks 🙏
It is hard to make UA-cam videos for the masses. If I put something out it is usually in the middle of the road. Based on individual motions and bodies people can move slightly different.
if anyone would have explained this to me when I first began golfing, I would have been a much better golfer by now......disappointed that none of the professional instructors I've taken lessons from, bothered to explain this to me....
What is this weighted club called ? We’re can I buy one ?
That is the RMT club and using the 4lb one : shop.weckmethod.com/products/rmt-club?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnYFqkqlmaQZyE76_Dh8mClNyrVP&gclid=CjwKCAjw88yxBhBWEiwA7cm6pX1cHAtHKsC4BeJzVjpHu2GkiqIaKzodqC1obgjps-h80ah8omTCGRoCDrYQAvD_BwE
Gonna need more that 14 clubs to get round with this training!
Smash whitey
The reason, I think, why this is so difficult for most people is because it feels so effortless and our subconscious believes to hit it far we need to put effort in.
Very true. They think strength is the answer. If that is the case why do little 14 year old kids and the LPGA hit it 250+
Thanks for this video, how come it needs to fall into that position? What about just doing the take away to the relatively shallow position?
If you want to try and swing on the delivery plane it would be closer to a Kuchar look. Taller and thiner the player their club goes more up and falls more down. Shorter and wider the player is the more around it might go. Depends on the body and what the player wants. Can experiment with both. Not saying you have to lift the club/arms way up but I like to see the lead arm around the shoulder line at the top.
Thanks! Does this takeaway apply to pitch shots as well?
In short game you have many options to hit different shots. For more of a stock pitch shot I like the club going up and down the plane fairly neutral. Can hit a little draw or cut form there.
Thanks, Bryan! I like your feel of moving the grip, heel pad of lead hand towards the camera. Do you have a feel suggestion to start the stock pitch (neutral plane)?
@@craigconnor324 that would be same feel for short game. can try that or can get the club head moving up quicker. Some people prefer the wider motion and others more narrow backswing.
This really helped me out. Perfect way to guage feet width! Thanks
Good video. Good point.
I really need this
Excellent as always Bryan! 👏

Can I use this drill with resistance for power? It would be great to design a trailing aid with variable resistance.
There could potentially be a way. I like to see the efficiency of the motion improve before working to add horses under the hood. Sometimes a more efficient move will increase the speed. Can always use something like The Stack System to train with away from the course.
Hey Bryan, Any tips for why I’m shanking with my Planemate? I’ll hit 5 perfect shots then I’ll hit 5 shanks. I’m not early extending so I wonder if it’s a face issue? Very frustrating Thanks
Film from down the line with camera on the target line and see when the hosel is moving into the ball. Is it coming from too far inside and crossing (in to out path) or is the path too out and coming across. Look 1’ before to 1’ after. Can put an alignment rod out in front a few feet of the ball to make it easier to see the target line.
Where is that beautiful course?
Looks like Tahoe.
@@Jackybug yes it is Tahoe.
Really good information. Very helpful. Thank you.
This is one of the reasons why the Pro swing looks so good. Great explanation. I knew to turn my right hip back but after that I was confused. This definitely is a good visual to replicate. Thanks from Canada!!!
*promosm* 🤗
I'm trying to adjust my acceleration profile and am wondering if you can give me some feedback on my acceleration tile and how I can adjust it to make it more like the "ideal" acceleration curve.
How has this video not got more views/love?! Just what I was looking for. The debate rages on about shaft lean/angles/impact point and so on. This is a great way of showing how it all works. Thank you!
The guys at the clubhouse kept getting pissed at me when I threw my clubs out on the range. Are there any ranges that are okay with throwing clubs out there?
Are you sure they aren’t their clubs😂😂😂😂
Great lesson. Your series with the planemate are excellent.
Awesome
Well explained video👍
Your clips are the hidden gems. Appreciate your great work!
Brian thank you for your video, the best CAPTO EZ video I have seen. That said though, still a little confused about how to calibrate with the bubble level. Is the long side of the bubble tool put against the putter face? Would you consider doing a new short video on calibration, where you do a close up of how the level is put on the face? Hope you might consider that thanks!
Where is this beautiful course?
That course is located in Tahoe, CA. Very nice private club called Martis Camp
Why did you give up on the tour striker Planemate ?
Didn’t give up on it. Still use it now and then with students. Has some good benefits on the backswing/downswing as well as the front side of the swing.
This training aid in 2 weeks has really altered my game for the better . Finish is still difficult as it trying to eradicate the excess flip I’ve had
The finish is the hardest thing to the plane mate for me
A lot of good players use the plane mare for the front side with mid irons and down.
A very thorough explanation of the balance point and the reaction to how we influence the swing by the force applied to the grip. Thank you!
Hi Bryan, I have been watching your videos on Capto 2.0 and Capto EZ. Which system do you think is best for an amateur golfer keen to improve? I think the aim mode looks very good but that is not available on the EZ version? Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks Lee
Aim is available on EZ version and with the upcoming Capto 2.0 software update the aim feature will be the same. Capto 2.0 gives you a lot more info and can dive into the tiles with all the graphs where the EZ tiles give you change from setup to impact. I always recommend Capto 2.0 for anyone that can get it. You can use BRYANP1 at captogolfusa.com for a 5% discount.
Very helpful. Thank you for taking the time!
So, I haven't really been able to get this feel on anything other than my wedges.. when I get the feel with wedges, I turn through, divot is straight as in arrow.. would this be the same feel almost through the entire bag?
As the club gets longer night need more of the feel to keep the shape neutral.
@@bryanpategolf I've never related that falling club head feel, with anything but wedges so it'll be interesting to try.
just realised there is a part 3! Thanks Bryan
great follow up to the amazing part 1 video
The biggest thing that helped my swing was having a light grip pressure. This allows the club to naturally fall and rotate after impact. When I had a tight grip I was manipulating the club causing me to swing the club which created an over the top path. The best advice I think anyone can get to really understand the golf swing is to allow the club to do all of the work. That club is designed to naturally fall and rotate into impact if you allow it.
This is me for the past 8yrs…I don’t know why I can’t break out of it. Very frustrating !!
No Joke- I’ve played on and off for ten years and practice all the time when I get into it.. I have had an Over the top move for years that was “unfixable” and it stops me from playing consistent golf. This move changed my entire swing. I found it before I found this video but this move is the best. You do have to be very patient at transition and not fire until you feel the head drop under the plane..
Tremendous instruction on the action, reaction and sequencing of the golf swing as an athletic movement, corresponding to the task at hand. Excited to follow and learn more.
Thank you for the comment. I got one of the middle weights and it is the 6lb one. Pick one based on your strength and ability.
Hi Bryan, this is fantastic instruction mate. I've struggled with the chipping yips for the best part of 10 years but thanks to the fundamentals taught by you, James Ridyard, James Sieckmann, Stan Utley and others, I'm gradually starting to dig my way out. I hope to reach out to you for an online lesson soon 👍
