I don't train my cats to obey, if they are behaving naugty, they make me laugh. And if two cats have a fight, I just stand in the middle, seperating them. And I do often go around the block (without a leash) with them, and they all follow me. Nevertheless, your advices are good for people that have expensive furniture and other expensive taste or have breakable stuff. So keep on going with your video's. 👍

I have a Ragdoll and a Maine Coon. They both happily do whatever they think makes me happy. Both abnormally affectionate and smart.

There are a lot of comments here by people who disagree with the methods presented. Folks saying "let cats be cats." I would like to share my experience. This video is about operant conditioning. Basically, rewarding desirable behavior. It is also about understanding the cat's nature, for example cats need high places to jump and lots of things that are intended for scratching. So, I have click trained cats. The reason I did it is because I had a dangerous dynamic between two of my cats. One was a chaser and one was a runner. When I did click training with them, it served many purposes. 1, it was a great form of mental stimulation for both of the cats. The chaser was very intelligent and caught on quickly. She loved the game of figuring out what would get the clicks. 2, it boosted their confidence. This was especially important for the runner. She became a totally different cat. 3, they became calmer. Eventually, with very careful work, they were able to peacefully coexist. Even sit on opposite ends of the same piece of furniture. I still have the runner, her name is binky. She and I have bonded for about 15 years. We still use the clicker from time to time. Of course she loves it because she is highly motivated by food. And yes, she is very well trained. She comes when I call her, she gets up or down just by me pointing, and she even wears a vest and a leash outside. A trained animal is a safe animal. She still plays like a kitten, loves balls that bounce, and hangs out in the highest spots in the house. If you want to train your cat, best wishes! Books about click training helped me get started.
