how do they switch their guitar tone to cleans without any effects pedals????
someone else might do it for them maybe? idk just a guess
They play along with a sequencer. In their ears they hear clicktrack + ques so they can play in time with backing tracks (for example the string sections in Afterlife). That same sequencer sends out MIDI signals to their guitar rigs to change the tones when needed.
Ask James Hetfield guitar tech....the guy has a big responsability every night for switching the right tones (clean/distortion)
