Mt Whitney Fish Hatchery || A Perfect Stop on Your Hwy 395 Road Trip
A perfect stop to stretch your legs and enjoy a picnic along California highway 395 in the Eastern Sierra. A beautiful historic building and pond with the Eastern Sierra mountains in the distance make this an interesting stop on your highway 395 road trip. It's a great place for kids, as they can feed the fish. There are plenty of picnic tables and restrooms as well. If you have time, check out the interesting history of this landmark in the small educational museum.

@@OutWestUSI have stayed there several times, a decade or so ago. In-fact twice in the very room in your video (room with the art around the headboard) and while we were there one of those times, sitting outside the few rooms that were in rentable/inhabitable condition, the crew from a well-known TV ghost hunting show drove up and asked if they could take “EMF readings” in the very room we were staying in.
@@Gogogordy1 that's crazy, what did the readings say? We've been to so many "haunted places" and I have yet to have an encounter. We'll keep trying though ,😉
@ Oh, I didnt say we let them in…it was late at night, we had a group of friends and were drinking the night away in the colonnade in front of of the 11 (?) usable hotel rooms and our motorcycling friends had rented about half the place. We asked them nicely to come back at a more opportune time….like in the day when we were out exploring Death Valley.

I was in Gabbs in the early 90’s and bought a large soft back coffee table size book at the checkout counter in the general store about the town and history that was written by a resident … many many pictures and great stories about life over the years including football games proms and etc - I still read through it periodically now - So is the golf course still there ?
@@robbmanchester5747 No, the golf course ceased operation in 2001 from what I read. We talked with a local while we were there and he had a lot of stories about what a thriving community it had been in his younger years. I bet your book is really interesting.
