For the moment diagram is the peak 12.8 or 10.24? 10.24 is what we had for the internal moment between points A-B

In the beginning picture of your second example, a counterclockwise moment acted at the end of the cantilever beam. Why did this not end up getting put into our moment equation of equilibrium to solve for M_2? Since moments are free vectors, should it be included in the M_1 equation of equilibrium as well? I'm in mechanics of materials right now, and I'm just a bit confused.

Is that why the result of the moment equation was a constant which was equal to the point moment?

Use method of sections by considering ABC only. And then take the moment about joint C so you can find the reactions easily.

Mam when you were taking Kcb, why you took kcb=4EI/L . In Kcb with B as far end and also being a roller support and over hanging part was it not supposed to be kcb=3EI/L. If point A was a support then kcb=4EI/L is correct, but with A as overhanging isn't 3EI/L correct ? Kindly mam explain why you did not take 3EI/L? Thankyou..

There are only two pipes listed in the information provided, with diameters of 4 and 6. So why is there now additional information stating that the second pipe has a 1.5" radius and a 3" diameter?

If anyone needs to figure that out, they should be studying force reactions specifically. That is the "easy" part. It is all relative, but at the level she is going at with this video, it makes sense to focus on the moment and shear diagrams. It is good to keep content within the scope that makes sense... otherwise this could end up being a all-too-long video. That being said... for those that need the help: google "how to solve force reactions in x and y axis". Also, another tip: when solving for force reactions, consider the body as a when summing the equation for the forces and the equation for the moments.

how are you getting EGL - HGL = .856? When you say V^2/2g what is the variable V? Is it V2, V4, V6? I can't reproduce the calculation that gets you this number. Even doing sqrt(.856 x 2g) gives me 7.42 ft/s... what does this represent? is that accurate?

Love your videos, they are helping me so a ton through this energy/momentum exam. You explain the physical principles involved, videos are concise and to the point, don't waste time unnecessarily performing calculations (calculations that students can and should be able to do), no pretentiousness like some. Well done, keep 'em coming. I will be seeking guidance in the second semester of fluid mechanics I'm sure.
