My UA-cam channel is mostly about the "pure joy of shooting!" We look at Muzzle loaders, Black Powder firearms. In due time I shoot them and you all can join in the range fun with me. Further more we look at classic, historical and modern firearms as well. A few videos is all firearm knowledge and other videos is all about pure joy at the shooting range. From time to time I will post videos with content like: Hunting, Dogs, Drone, Reenactment, Buck-skinning, Historical living, Photo and Video. But first and foremost the content on my channel is about firearms and the pure joy and love of shooting them!

The first trial on a new to me .54 Cal. Flint lock rifle. This rifle is made by a late friend who made many extraordinary fine rifles rifles here up in Norway. Sbhooting with spit patch

I have been on the fence regarding spit patch. I have not been using spit as a lubricant for my muzzle-loaders, but after these trials i am all for it. I have the case hardened and I got the nickel version for my son. I got both of ours in 45 Colt since we have several revolvers in that caliber as well as all manner of bullet molds etc. for the 45's. I prefer them to the 1873's, but my son prefers the 73's and Schofield.
I have the 73 SAA in 357 and I used to have the Schofield in 45 Schofield, the S&W one amde in 2000 samples in the year 2000. But I do prefer the 1875 in 44-40.
I have this lyman hand primer, it came with the lyman turret kit i bought, which also came with lyman shell holders. Mine has worked great, i had an rcbs before which i thought was great, until i used the lyman. I think alot of people have issues with using other brands of shells holders with the lyman hand primer. I cannot confirm this as ive always used shell holders from the same company as the hand primer.
I use combo guns for small game/camp pot hunting when we hunting bear and mule deer on the UP of Michigan. I use a couple different Ruger No1 and No3 single shots for nig game, that my lil Krieghoff keeps us fed at camp for the entire 4 weeks I am there. I hate to admit it, but i honestly enjoy the varmint and pheasant hunt in the afternoons more than the big game in the morning
I prefer peep sights over the standard open sights and mostly prefer them to scopes for hunting rifles.

I just got another one from Joe. He’s still selling them.

If you could find one, could you do a video on the ultra rare Krag-Peterssen? I’m dying to see it!
So where the Kropatschek and Lebel raise the elevator on opening the bolt, the Jarmann raises it on closing. Does this mean the Jarmann doesn't need to be cycled twice in order to feed from the magazine?
@@polymathart Yes.
@@snapshotscorner5542 But it's impossible to top it off by having one round on the tray, I guess.
Sadly I no longer have my Ruger No 1. The good news is that my daughter has it and loves it! Her friends are just a bit jealous! The cult of the Ruger No 1 is carrying on and that is a good thing.
thank you sir
Those loads were rather inconsistent. You need a new scale bro
Great looking piece! It's a matter of personal preference, of course, but I've always preferred the look of the Remington 1875 over that of the Colt SAA. (especially if the 1875 has a brass trigger guard and 5.5 inch barrel)
@@thecount5558 The distance frm the trigget guard to the grip is slightly longet an gives better space fot your two middle fingers
What a fun video, thanks for posting. Beautiful rifle - even your saddle holster was gorgeous!

It's beautiful. I have a version of this rifle, but mine would actually be a bit earlier, with Jaeger type ramrod thimbles and sights. It is stocked in figured English Walnut. It has a large Germanic Early Colonial lock. No patchbox. I had it made ten years ago, and I'm sorry to say that due to poor health, I've never fired it. Subscribed.
@@AlanHigh-x4i Sounds like a nice rifle..! Thanks for watching.
Hello again, thanks for the video, I agree the Remington 1875 is a great looking revolver. Unfortunately we can't shoot that version in UK :( have to be longggggg barreled revolvers. Such a pity I really like my 1858 Remington so would love to have an 1875. I'll be looking forward to the Remington/Colt comparison video. Cheers Chris

So, I’m not the only one who loads 6. I used to do CA, but that was over 20 years ago, and then 5 of course. With the percussion guns, five can be complicated. Should I cap all six, or five? Too much thinking and remembering. Fill everything, shoot everything. But as you say, works well alone. I seem to remember shooting competition at the Nationals (NMLRA) that five was the number for timed and rapid, but that was nearly 40 years ago. Nice pistol. O.R.
I went to Friendship Indiana back in 2004. Stayed at the Widdowmaker cabin on the primitive range. Even got #1 in the rifle frolic. Good times...
@@snapshotscorner5542 Yes, my last visit was 1994. Had a lodge setup on primitive camping around 92. Great place, wishing I could return. O.R.
I have one in stainless that my daughter talked me into buying. I have had problems with it getting really tight after about 12 blackpowder rounds. I was giving it a shot of ballistol during reloads. I will have to try anti-seize. Thank you for the tip.
Another tip that might help out is get'n a mold with a larger lube grove. I pan lube my bullets an size them in Lee sizer. There will be a short video on the making of BP 44wcf rounds soon.

Sickinger is the brand.!
I saw one of these at a store in Pennsylvania Usa recently it’s a beautiful pistol

Very nice, thanks for the video.
I’ve got Skinner peeps on all my lever guns, they’re WAY easier for my eyes to get a good picture. Even the Rossi 92, which the peep mounts where the buckhorns were on the barrel is fast and easy to acquire a picture. I was a little worried about it being so far forward, it turned out to be a non issue entirely.
On your Rossi R92, did you have to put a taller front sight on it after the peep was installed?

Hello, thanks for the good rifle video, glad you have it back in your collection :) That looks really good for a Kit gun, my pillow ticking is 0.015" & I have lubed patches at 0.010" & 0.012" so I sometimes try a different powder load/patch combination & usually around 50 - 60 grains powder in rifles when target shooting.
