I can understand Kikyo in a way. She hated Inuyasha because she once loved him. Only now is she free to hate, because she's free of the responsibility of the priestess. But I think she learned to love again near the end. I have a similar story. It's a similar story between me and my father.

Kikyo is a very complex character it requires a mature person to understand this character. A child or young adolescent without a certain level of maturity won't understand this character, what she went through and her emotions.

One of my favourite anime character of all time. I rewatch Inuyasha only and only for Kikyo. My beloved Kikyo. Her story is so tragic and has so much depth but people seem to ignore it. I don’t get why she got so much hate, her action after being resurrected can be easily justified. I love her so much.

I lost my grandma recently...we were exactly 50 years apart well almost, her 85 birthday would've been next month on May 19th. I'm 35. She was my very best friend, my everything. I have this saved on a playlist as if it was waiting for me one day. I always told people she's the Kikyo to my Kagome. I can only aspire to become half the woman she was. I miss her so much but at this very moment, I am thinking of the scene between Kikyo and Kaede when she came to say goodbye. The night before she left me forever I found myself randomly recalling long forgotten memories in such shock it caused me to cry. It felt so warm!

The tears I cried today were for both Kikyo and me. Now that I have experienced a sad first love I got the feeling that I used to be a little hard on Kikyo. I realized that the only one that loved her truly and forever was Inuyasha. She was that first love for him. And rewatching the series made me think that Kagome sometimes was a bit selfish (and hey that is Ok because she doesn't have to be perfect, she is just being a really kind but jealous human being). Kikyo doesn't have anyone that cares for her not even Kaede, her sister, so for me Inuyasha was totally right in saving her every time. Like don't all of us would like to be cherished instead of letting us die alone and scared or angry and painfully? At least I know I do. The manga depicts way much better the true development and complexity of Kikyo. I never disliked her as a Child but now growing up I got the feelings mixed up so bad that almost made me angry at Kagome and Kaede at times. Today I finally watched the death of this amazing character on motion/anime so I have to say: You deserved to be saved! Glad you got to receive the after life in the arms of your only love. Bye bye Kikyo!

All themes are so beautiful and portray her so well. I love Rei Chikara the most because I feel so much of kikyos anger and sadness :( such a tragic character
