HINT: youre asking a prey animal ( who doesnt see well in the dark) to get into a small very dark space! if you paint the interior of the trailer white and put lights ON in it, and put LIGHT colored CLEAN shavings on the floor, the horse will be far more positive about stepping right into it. my sister had a trailer painted white inside with lights ON inside, and her horses always stepped right up while others at the horse show were smacking, whipping, shoving etc their scared horses trying to get them into the trailer. yes im well experienced with horses.

Excellent and to the point. I’m teaching kids to perform this skill correctly but often they are not tall enough to reach right arm over the neck to grab hold of crown piece. Any suggestions in that regard Nicole? I’ve been teaching them to toss the crown piece up and over but as you know this is not best.

If I were the saddlemaker, I would tell you, you just bought it, never put a saddle that you don't own on a horse without a pad. Next person who looks at it will notice your horses hair on the fleece, and will think the maker is trying to sell them a used saddle as new.

Do you have a certain brand of rope halters that you like to use? If you can’t give a brand name can you give the type of material it is made of and how many nose band knots?

The Wade saddle is designed to sit low on the horse. You can purchase or find one with a 93 degree front end. This saddle appears to be a 90 degree front. I have two wade saddles one of each so I can fit any horse I might be riding at the time. Good video I like it.

The most important thing is what you said about barn buddies that must be broke first so she knows she is also your buddy and you guys are a team. Great job. Ok I decided to watch another video on something we all take for granted. ABSOLUTELY energy before the gate is everything especially if it’s feed up time and got the pushers ready to run us over. Be prepared before the gate is what I teach with new boarders. I love the fact about the high hold of all your ropes and halters creates stress. They always say I can’t catch my horse but why can you do it. I don’t care I don’t stress. Be prepared keep it low and talk about how nice it is to be with you and it’s fun or food or comfort we are a team. Best gate video ever. I think you got the only one that makes sense. Great job. Most people get discouraged and frustrated then hate the horse because it’s not a Chevy truck where jump in turn key and drive. Connecting and don’t transfer your crappie day on this animal they will react negatively just like you. Great job again.

I just watched the saddle fit video and really liked what you described so i decided to watch a simple halter class and again perfect description of the difference with each halter. I use rope because it fits all the horses I work with. My biggie take away is the feel and control you have with rope. When the farrier shows up I have get all the horses to stand and get shod BUT we also have donkeys and let me tell you what. A buckle halter on a donkey will get you in big trouble quick. So again you nailed it about feel and control. Nobody talks about lead lines but you do what we do. Fat chunky lead lines and buckle halters are for easy going push button horses. So for safety and control and a halter that fits everything do the rope. Horses need the feel and connection from their face to you. Great job again for what seems like a simple nobody cares class but this is huge for real horsemanship. Great job and thanks for sharing your experience.

As a ranch hand for over 25 years you nailed it. The fit looks good but it’s the finger test especially for the scapular muscle. You want your horse comfortable for the long ride either working or pleasure. Most people would buy that saddle and deal with the rub injury after the ride or a very angry horse after 30 minutes. Very good info and description for what a good fit looks like. I always say when you buy a horse what saddle and pad did the horse train with and what bit is he comfy with. Either the tack comes with or you have to match size and shape before you get home. So your test for fit should be with your tack and saddlery when you buy and test ride. Too many times we had clients that bought expensive tack and can’t use on the new horse. Very quick what right looks like BUT looks are not the fit. Great job. Thank you from all my horses.

3:15 Please - Don't loop the rope in your hand that way, as if horse took off could go tight & you don't want to lose a finger. Do figure-8 looping vs a circle to hold horse ropes. I was taught to never hold a horse rope in that circle method around my hand. -- I loved walking my horses on horse hikes. They are arthritic now & my trailer needs a new floor, so just in backyard.

If I were to make an educated guess, I would say it's bridging. If it isn't bridging, the tightness on the front and back, if all of the tree bars are making even contact, then your saddle will move upwards with each gait. In essence, raising the front and back of the bars, which will then alleviate the pressure at each end of the bars when needed.

I don't know better than you. Please consider: the saddle has to sit somewhere. So, when you check on this area with your hand, it will be pretty tight. The problem with the pad is irreverent. These are only my thoughts. Besides, the saddle is beautiful.

I believe it's illegal to pick up arrowheads. It is in Nevada anyhow, Think it's federal offense if I remember correctly.

I lived in Ohio county Kentucky and found a ton of flint arrowheads and even a spearhead near the rougher river on the edge of a friends property
