This quick video shows you how to create a blanket stitch to close up two pieces of fabric during hand sewing. The blanket stitch is a valuable stitch to add to your beginner sewing repertoire, as it holds pieces securely for stuffing, but also has a nice decorative edge and feel.

As someone who has been crocheting for barely a week. I didn’t find this helpful at all after the first part. The speed up in talking mixed with the just finished shot makes it very hard to follow

It would have been nice to see the stitches… You said “as you can see” and then completely blocked the view of the yarn with your hand until the very end. 🤦🏻‍♀️

If you turn your work(go in the opposite direction)at the beginning of each new row, it keeps your granny beautifully square. Sometimes they can start to look a little ’wonky’ otherwise. One of the best tips I’ve received. Thank you for this tutorial 💗

I wonder what I did wrong, mine is a circle instead of a square. It looks really cute, but it seems like I always have to do a project 2-3 times before It turns out like it should. Haha

I learned this but without the slip stitch for the ending. It’s essentially the same way but when you finish your last corner, you half double crochet instead of slip stitching. Love to see both ways though!😊

Hooks are very personal. The only real way to choose the right one is to try to match the pattern gauge. The label and pattern recommendation is a starting point. You might have to go up or down one or two sizes to match gauge.

That’s not easy.. and you can’t do two double crochet into the corner you slip knotted together .. they will require you to turn the work
